Evernorth Services' Global Data & Analytics organization offers solutions that provide actionable insights to internal and external business partners and customers to reduce health costs, improve outcomes, and measure and forecast business performance.

In this role, you will work closely with the customer advocacy and personalization strategy, product, service operations, digital and IT stakeholders to understand their strategy and provide recommendations on making data-driven decisions to meet their business objectives. The BA Senior Advisor will be responsible for conducting advanced analytics, research activities and health insurance program evaluations in efforts to provide a positive customer engagement experience leading to positive health outcomes. The goal of this position is to focus on a new Evernorth analytic product offering that fits into a service and digital-first model called Coordinated Services. This involves working on a next generation recommendation engine with new next best opportunities (NBOs) either in their ideation, creation, productionalizing and evaluation.

You will work both independently and collaboratively within the Customer Personalization Analytics team and business stakeholders, exercising professional judgment and initiative, and accountability for the delivery and reliability of their work.

Perform advanced trend analytics to answer "what happened?"

Summary

You will be expected to have demonstrated the requisite content knowledge related to statistical modeling techniques, evaluating program outcomes and/or consumer and/or health services research to act independently in this role. The person we choose may have a strength in one or more of the areas mentioned above and we would like to form a team with multiple strengths. However, you do not have to be strong in all aspects of analytics (opportunity analytics, modeling, algorithm development, evaluation science) for we need teammates with diverse analytic backgrounds to assist us. You will interface with business, digital, service, clinical, pricing, actuarial, reporting, product development, operations, and marketing departments as needed. The ideal candidate for this role will be highly motivated, flexible and embrace change.

This position is with Evernorth, a new business within the Cigna Corporation.

Responsibilities

  • Extraction and analysis of large healthcare claims and customer relationship management (CRM) datasets
  • Opportunity analysis including descriptive and multivariate statistics to identify patterns in the data
  • Design models or business algorithms that will further power current and new "Next Best Action" rules
  • Design prospective and/or retrospective studies to determine the effectiveness of "Next Best Action" recommendations and solutions i.e. matched-case control and randomized control trials
  • Employ survey techniques such as sampling and questionnaire design. Consult with stakeholders on questions, scales, and composites
  • Creation of actionable insights and recommendations for business leaders
  • Work to support the automation of model insights to include ongoing tuning, monitoring, efficacy and effectiveness
  • Work in native and cloud environments to conduct advanced analytics
  • Presentation of results and recommendations to non-technical business partners and stakeholders to help drive the decision-making process and support business operations for internal and external customers

Qualifications

  • 5+ years' of experience in healthcare related analytics
  • Experience using SQL and/or Spark for querying large datasets
  • Experience building, interpreting, and deploying machine learning models (binary classification, recommender models) in Python (highly preferred) or other programming languages
  • Proven experience in qualitative research and user-centered design methods as well as quantitative, behavioral analysis, and statistical concepts
  • Self-motivated with strong leadership qualities, including a strong customer focus, managing stakeholder expectations, and influencing decision-making
  • The ability to collaborate and communicate effectively across the organization at different levels
  • Ability to successfully navigate and contribute in a highly-matrixed environment
  • Advanced degree in Statistics, Math, Biostatistics, or Epidemiology highly preferred

If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 104,700 - 174,500 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
