PBS's highest-rated ongoing series, ROADSHOW is seen by around 7 million viewers each week. ROADSHOW staff and crew travel the U.S. along with the countrys leading specialists from the countrys leading auction houses and independent dealers and offer free appraisals of antiques and collectibles. ANTIQUES ROADSHOW cameras capture tales of family heirlooms, flea market finds and items saved from attics and basements, while experts reveal the fascinating truths about these finds.


Reporting to the Business & Production Manager, the Business Manager is responsible for assisting in the managing of Antiques Roadshow series and ancillary department budgets; legal and administrative work flow, and various accounting and procurement business processes. In addition, the Business Manager will assist in the management of production and post-production activities for the department and during event production, assist in facilitating and supervising production workflows at event locations.

The Business Manager will also participate in short and long-term strategic planning for the department, in collaboration with the Business & Production Manager and Senior Producer, including all aspects of budgeting, financing and production schedules, to ensure timely delivery of the series to PBS and adherence to the budget bottom line. The position also maintains a reporting line to the Director of National Programming Finance.


  • Maintain legal contract schedule, review various vendor contracts, license agreements and releases.

  • Facilitate the production shut-down process and maintain unit information in PIM database.

  • Assist in the preparation of Antiques Roadshows series budgets, including AR Digital and AR National Marketing budgets and track and report monthly expenditures, working closely with the Project Finance department analyst.

  • Prepare quarterly and final reports for submission to PBS.

  • Work with GBH administrative departments to prepare and submit vendor payments, review staff expense reports.

  • Oversee talent and crew hiring and payments, including Health & Welfare benefit payments.

  • Collaborate with other Roadshow staff in event planning details, including creating event production binders.

  • Coordinate and submit print order for all production event documents.

  • Complete and submit insurance requests for production related activities.


  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and cultivate productive working relationships with internal and external clients.

  • Proven ability to generate accurate, detailed financial reports.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Ability to contribute to strategic and long-range project planning.

  • Proficiency in Excel.

  • Proficiency with databases Filmmaker Pro and MS Word preferred.


Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required. Two to three years experience in finance and budget management, analysis, and development.Film or television production experience required.
