Job Description

Due to the exceptional growth experienced and the bank's expansion/transformation overseas, we are looking to hire a talented Financial Risk and Controls manager to enhance oversight and strengthen controls in financial reporting, whether that is operational areas and processes that could impact financial integrity or losses or Finance's own processes and controls.

This role is a supporting one to ensure sound governance, oversight and execution of the financial and operational risks and controls as part of our Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) program, including key operational, regulatory and compliance related controls within the Finance Department, as well as supporting operational areas that could impact financial integrity.The role will be responsible for managing all SOX and operational controls related design, implementation, documentation and self-testing to ensure we meet the requirements for the Company's SOX program as well as detect and prevent noncompliance with policies and procedures in advance of internal and external audits. This position will work closely with the related business management, business risk, compliance and SOX teams to ensure transparency and understanding of financial reporting and operational issues, opportunities, and the environment both for now and as we experience change from internal factors, such as growth and new business lines, and external factors, such as new regulations and industry expectations.

In this role, you will report to the Financial Business Risk Officer. This is a visible role that will work closely with the broader Finance team (Accounting, Treasury, Procurement, FP&A,etc.), as well as ERM, Transformation Office, Operations, SOX, Internal and External Audit teams.Coverage includes the current India GDC location and the US.

Specific requirements:

  • Support the annual risk assessments (SOX and ERM) for identifying significant accounts and risks for reporting
  • Coordinate, update and maintain all SOX related artifacts including narratives, process / control specific flow charts and RCMs in Workiva
  • Support / Lead the Walkthroughs coordination - manage and facilitate the internal/external SOX walkthroughs including the walkthroughs set-up, identification of relevant parties, participation, timely process documentation delivery, and additional follow up follow up questions and resolution, etc.
  • Support the SOX team with operating effectiveness testing as needed
  • Support the business units quarterly certification under Section 302 of SOX
  • Mange and facilitate audit coordination with all external and internal audit related matters including quality and delivery of audit schedules, follow up questions and resolution, etc.
  • Facilitate SOC 1 reports reviews applicable to the business
  • Support the business units quarterly BCP requirements
  • Participate and provide guidance for new initiatives and projects, including determination of risks and mitigating controls
  • Support the business units by providing guidance on specific topics as needed

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent. MBA or MS is a plus.
  • Chartered Accountancy, CPA qualification or CFA qualification will be an added advantage
  • 5+ years working in the financial services industry with managerial level experience preferred
  • Experience in SOX controls for financial reporting required including ITAC, ITGCs, and IPEs
  • Experience in SOX Treasury processes (Cash Management, Hedging, Derivatives and FX) preferred
  • Experience in internal/external audit, risk, business controls or compliance management
  • Good analytical, research, organizational, and project management skills. Strongindividual contributor with the ability to work effectively as a team.
  • Flexibility in handling change, multiple competing priorities and deadlines, with a positive attitude
  • Self-starter, resourceful, collaborative, disciplined, hands-on and able to operate independently to lead and support multiple projects across a number of areas in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent verbal and writtencommunication skills
  • Passionate about continuing to learn and improve
  • Ability to work tight timelines and manage multiple competing priorities while delivering sound results
  • Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills required
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft products required
  • Experience with Workiva is a plus
  • Big 4 Accounting firm experience is a plus
