Come join a dynamic team as Central Monitor Technician at Dartmouth-Hitchcock! During your 8 week orientation, you will receive all of the necessary training to ensure your success in this role. We are seeking candidates who have an interest and some education in biology, anatomy or physiology, have a high attention to detail and excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.This isa role that requires you to remain static for long periods of time while maintaining a strong focus on the work in front of you combined with the necessity to jump in to action quickly when needed. This is a full-time, 36-hour per week position working 3 rotating 12-hour shifts over 7 days a week. We offer shift differentials for evening shifts (10%), night shifts (20%) and weekend shifts (15%). We can work with your schedule to find shifts that suit you.





The Central Monitor Technician at Dartmouth-Hitchcock is responsible for maintaining the integrity of monitoring in the dual role of patient safety surveillance or cardiac rhythm technician, serving as an integral member of the patient care team. The Technician provides real time virtual safety surveillance on a patient that has been identified as requiring visual monitoring per policy and procedure and as supervised by a Registered Nurse. They will provide continuous monitoring of heart rhythms and dysrhythmia interpretation as per policy and procedure and supervised by a Registered Nurse.

Minimum
Qualifications:



  • High school graduate required.

  • National Telemetry Certification through
    the National Telemetry Association strongly preferred.

  • Must demonstrate keyboarding skills and
    be familiar with computer use.

  • Previous hospital experience preferred.

  • Completion of advanced dysrhythmia
    course upon hire and successful passing grade on organizational EKG test upon completion
    of orientation and annually.

  • Effective communication skills.

  • Successful completion of competency
    based orientation program.

  • Ability to multi-task with multiple
    competing priorities.
