Responsibilities

Perspecta Labs delivers world-class cyber research and engineering to government agencies, telecom carriers, utilities, and commercial enterprises. Drawing on its Bell Labs heritage, Perspecta Labs excels at creating innovative technologies and services to solve the most difficult and complex problems, shaping the state of the art in government and commercial cyber security. We are looking for candidates with a strong background and proven experience in cyber and networking research and development for Full-Time positions in our Cyber Security research group. Candidates will work with teams to research, conceive and develop prototypes, and should be adept at identifying successful approaches to complex problems. Research areas of interest include, but are not limited to:


Full-spectrum cyber operations, including CND, CNE, CNA, and CNO.
Experience with large-scale commercial telecommunications hardware, software, protocols, standards and operational procedures.
Configuration, debugging and administration experience with carrier grade routers, transport switches, and firewalls from Juniper, Cisco, Fortinet, and other US and international vendors
Experience in leading the test, measurement, and integration of prototyped software, hardware, and systems capabilities.
Expertise in Ghidra and other reverse engineering tools is required
Lead trade studies, analysis of alternatives and develop CONOPS
Program analysis, including understanding, vulnerability identification, and remediation
Experience with Malware analysis
Software-defined networking for cyber defense and deception
Wired and wireless systems architectures and protocols


Qualifications

Requires Bachelor's (or equivalent) with 15-20 years of experience or a Master's with 13 - 15 years of experience or PhD with 10-13 years of experience.

PhD in Computer Science/Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field OR Masters degree is preferred.
U.S. Citizen with TS SCI Clearance strongly preferred
Past experience as a technical/integration lead on at least one major effort
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to support customer-facing roles.
Ability and desire to quickly acquire knowledge of new subject matter areas
Past experience in business development including idea generation, whitepapers, and proposals
Place of performance: College Park, Md.

*Candidates who receive an offer prior to December 31, 2020 may be eligible for a sign-on bonus up to $10,000 if hired into the following role with Perspecta Labs: Chief Research Scientist (2020-99132). Sign-on bonuses are not guaranteed and eligibility requirements apply. Payment terms will begin after the first 90 days of employment and are subject to applicable tax-withholdings.
