This position plays a key role in the digital clinical design, development, and enhancement of strategic clinical programs and supports clinical development of prioritized projects. This position has responsibility to collaborate and align with current Clinical Program team members and matrix partners including Product, Clinical Operations, Analytics, Technology Team, Customer Experience, Design, etc to support and drive specific clinical program digital design priorities.

Using a value-based approach, human centered design principles, opportunity analytics, and other digital health design methods, the Clinical Program Senior Advisor is a critical member of a multi-disciplined team and will lead clinical design work for "test and learn" innovation pilots, new solution development, and maintenance of existing solutions to drive improved quality, affordability, and customer satisfaction. Clinical design solutions may be aimed at the client, provider, customer, and employee stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities (not limited to):

Clinical Program Development focused Health Improvement goals: Clinical value metrics, targeted health outcomes, alignment to evidence-based standards, quality improvement, health disparities/literacy, operational efficiency, process and tools, improved customer/healthcare professional experience and engagement.

Responsible for or key team member to:

  • Lead digital clinical design, development and support launch of new products/pilots/proof of concepts focused on improvement of health outcomes including increasing the likelihood of desired outcomes (compared to a baseline) and reducing health disparities among specified populations, providing consultative support to key stakeholders.
  • Maintain and apply current knowledge on digital health trends and methodologies associated with clinical innovation, the healthcare ecosystem, case management, coaching, and utilization management to generate new solutions to advance health outcomes, drive affordability, and customer engagement.
  • Demonstrate data-driven, solutions-based orientation to drive quality, affordability and positive experiences for our customers, clients and providers.
  • Evaluation of existing clinical programs with recommended enhancements and quality improvements that minimize silos and utilize evidence based digital design principles in collaboration with key stakeholders
  • Actively participate in digital clinical design strategy advancement with a focus on new and disruptive market forces highlighting health equity, inclusive design principles and digital health literacy.
  • Collaborate and participate in digital prototype development and iteration with the cross matrix team.
  • Exudes self-motivated ownership of clinical metric-driven results, continually acting with a sense of urgency to ensure that results are attained, if not exceeded and to champion perpetual change within Cigna to ensure that we anticipate market trends and offer industry-leading products and services.
  • Collaborating with Informatics/Analytics and other key metrics partners to understand results and define areas of clinical analytic opportunity to advance the performance of our programs and services

Educational/Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Behavioral-related field, preferred, Healthcare Administration and/or other Health Related Field.
  • Clinical License - RN, LPC/LPCC, LCSW, LP, LMFT, LMHC, RD, CHES
  • Digital health design experience
  • Knowledge of Agile methodology
  • Significant related healthcare operations/industry experience.
  • Understanding of instructional design and learning architecture
  • Familiarity with leveraging wireframe designs and other design visuals
  • Advanced degree or certifications preferred.
  • Experience with Jira and Confluence a preferred

Qualifications:

  • Current or recent clinical leadership experience.
  • Experience as a team leader or key team member involving complex projects, pilots or new customized solution resulting in successful execution to plans.
  • Innovative and open to new ideas in a focused, intense and growth oriented environment.
  • Strong analytic thinking and able to generate ideas from industry studies, reports, research and able to support root cause analysis to generate new innovative ideas and concepts.
  • Clinical operation experience with key leadership responsibilities involving complex projects across multiple matrix organization.
  • Extensive knowledge of the healthcare industry to include a deep understanding of managed care, care management, disease management and health advocacy.
  • Demonstrated experience and exceptional ability to work productively in a matrix management environment across geography, departments and position level.
  • Previous experience as a clinical operation implementation team leader or key team member involving complex projects, pilots or new customized solution resulting in successful execution to plans.
  • Action oriented, works with a sense of urgency and takes responsibility to execute to meet aggressive timelines.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills and an ability to influence at multiple organizational levels.
  • Strong interpersonal, networking and negotiations skills.
  • Deep knowledge of Cigna products and services. Strong knowledge of how Cigna operates preferred

If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 105,500 - 175,800 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
