Responsibilities

Department: Energy Management System/ Engineering
Location: Energy Control Center, Omaha, NE
Duration: May 2021 December 2021
Other: Additional terms beyond 2021 may be available
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday 8:00 to 4:30
Pay: $21.69
This position will support OPPD's Energy Management System (EMS) which is a realtime SCADA system on Linux and Windows hardware. Use of both graphical user interfaces and command line interfaces will be required. Work will include creation and maintenance of entries in relational databases, and graphical displays used to monitor and control the power grid. Some programming may be required for this position, mostly in C, Python, and SQL; the applicant should be familiar with, or at a minimum willing to learn these languages. The applicant must understand the importance of physical and electronic security and have a strong focus on maintaining the safe and reliable operation of the EMS.

Qualifications

Specific fields of study required: Electrical Engineering
2.5 GPA or higher is required
Sophomore or higher college level
Current full-time student attending an accredited college/university
Technical Ability (i.e. software): Emphasis in Power Engineering preferred; Knowledge in programming languages such as C, Python, and SQL preferred
