Arcadis is seeking a full-time Communications Specialist to join an innovative and collaborative group of skilled infrastructure and transportation communicators in our Atlanta office. Arcadis' Communications and Creative Services Team is actively engaged with state, regional, and local partners to deliver successful infrastructure and transportation projects across the country. Our communications services to clients are people-focused and rooted in the development of strategic communications plans that drive our activities and the development of deliverables. We provide our clients with stakeholder and public engagement services, presentation/media coaching and training modules. We tell our client's stories through dynamic messaging, media and materials, and we elevate those stories through compelling graphics, videos and photography.

Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Assist in the development of communications plans and other strategic documents on behalf of and in coordination with clients. Assist with crisis communications as needed.
  • Coordinate and write project materials, talking points/script writing, social media posts, grants, news articles, press releases and other collateral as well as build PowerPoint presentations.
  • Organize and contribute to stakeholder and public engagement meetings and special events.
  • Work with project managers to coordinate internal and external meetings, organize document repositories, and ensure timely delivery of project deliverables.

To succeed in this role, you will need to be creative and resourceful, have strong interpersonal skills, and work effectively both in groups and autonomously. You should also demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills that contribute to concise, clear deliverables. Additionally, strong organization, time management, and research skills will be key factors to your success. You likely will be expected to perform duties outside of the responsibilities described above, as the position requires you to exercise ambition and interest in developing new skills and expanding your technical expertise. Fluency in the MS Office software suite, with strong abilities in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint are key skills.


Required Qualifications:

  • 4 or more years' relevant communications and/or marketing experience
  • Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, public relations, marketing, or related field

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with or interest in the transportation industry and/or urban planning
  • Master's degree in communications, journalism, public relations, marketing, or related field
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign and Photoshop
  • Expertise in social media platforms and analytics
