Job Summary:

We are actively seekinganexperienced and highly motivatedindividual to duties of a communications specialist, part of an integrated team responsible for providing Command, Control, Communications, Computer, and Information Management (C4IM) services to organizations and users serviced by the Network Enterprise Center (NEC) Kwajalein. The communications specialist will perform duties as a telephone system operator and manage post call routing and the phone book. The communications specialist should have excellent organizational skills, a positive attitude, and experience with Army Enterprise services.


  • Operator Services:

    • USAG-KA Business Directory assistance listings

    • USAG-KA Business Directory updates and verificationDial assistance

  • Offnet and call redirection

  • Assist telecom work center with bridge scheduling assignments

  • Post Locator Services
    • :Maintain official post calling roster

    • Maintain post white pages phone book

  • Receive and process trouble tickets

  • Assist with Remedy queue management of VIP, Priority, and emergency call routing and notification for all work centers

  • NEC Call routing and back up

  • NEC Testing Center proctor

  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • IAT Level I Certification to include A+CE and (1) Network+ CE or (2) Security+ CE

  • Experience operating a telephone

  • Must currently reside at the U.S. Army Garrison Kwajalein Atoll in the Republic of the Marshall Islands (USAG-KA).

  • Must possess a valid U.S. passport.

  • Must posess an active security clearance

  • You must be able to meet all health requirements, including but not limited to, current and future vaccination requirements for infectious diseases such as COVID-19

Additional Qualifications:

  • Ability to ride a bicycle or walk at least 2 miles to/from work daily. There are no personally owned vehicles allowed on USAG-KA. Transportation is primarily by bicycle.

  • Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time.Must be able to lift 30lbs to waist height.

  • Ability to travel by plane or small sea going vessel between working locations.
