The Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior is seeking to hire a Community Mental Health Trainer to join the LA County Department of Mental Health + UCLA Public Mental Health Partnership. Primary duties include:

Provide training and consultation to mental health providers working on Full Service Partnership (FSP) teams in Los Angeles County in evidence-based interventions.
Develop training content and materials, such as virtual trainings, powerpoint presentations, manuals, and assist in the management of virtual training curricula.
Assist with project specific needs, such as the identification of relevant peer-reviewed research articles, popular media, and other training materials.
Utilize tracking mechanisms to provide regular reports to partner organizations about training
attendance and utilization of training offerings.

We have several openings for this role, and applicants can focus on particular geographic areas in LA County including, Western Los Angeles County, South Los Angeles County, South Bay, San Gabriel Valley, San Fernando Valley, East Los Angeles County and Antelope Valley.

Position is 100% remote until further notice
This is a contract position with possibility of extending and/or converting to career


Masters Degree (e.g. Social Work, Psychology) in Mental Health or related field, highly preferred
Demonstrated interest in working with systems that serve vulnerable/marginalized populations with a goal of fostering health equity
Experience in developing training content and providing training and other adult educational activities, highly preferred
Knowledge of Housing First, Assertive Community Treatment, Motivational Interviewing, Person-centered and Trauma-informed approaches, and other evidence-based interventions, highly preferred
Willingness to spend majority of time traveling to clinic and agency sites to deliver training and support to FSP providers (at least 2 days per week)
