The Community Outreach Specialistis a full-time position responsible for supporting the Community Partnership Committee of the Augusta Health Board of Directors, and coordinating the annual scholarship and strategic funding processes with considerable latitude necessary for exercising sound judgment and discretion. The administrative coordinator provides administrative support to the Community Outreach Department in day-to-day operational tasks and in the execution of the departments strategic initiatives. The administrative coordinator also maintains Augusta Healths community benefit system database in order to accurately track community benefit outcome metrics. Position involves planning, judgment, rapid adjustment to the unexpected and a high level of organizational skills.


  • Minimum of 2 years experience in administrative/clerical role required, preferably in a healthcare setting

  • Associates Degree required, Bachelors degree preferred
    • Prior Finance/Business coursework preferred


  • Possess excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills

  • Maintain professionalism in high stress situations

  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, often changing assignments on short notice

  • Exercise good judgment, discretion and initiative, especially when handling confidential or protected patient information

  • Ability to draft, proofread and develop correspondences

  • Process accounts receivable and maintain financial records

  • Demonstrate initiative to work independently, prioritize work, problem-solve and multi-task while paying attention to detail

  • Assume responsibility for decisions and results

  • Work collaboratively and interact courteously and tactfully with staff at all levels of the organization, community members and representatives from other organizations

  • Use technology to increase the effectiveness of community benefit efforts, including ability to utilize software for tracking and reporting of community benefit

  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Word, Outlook Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint).
