The Community Programs Specialist (Part time/20 our per week) is responsible for providing coordination and analytical support for individual project activities, communication, and logistical functions of projects. The Community Programs Specialist will be responsible for the coordination of day-to-day logistics and administrative aspects of collaborative projects. The Community Programs Specialist will participate in multi-disciplinary teams to ensure the successful implementation of various projects or interventions which may include conducting training sessions, educational programs, and preventative health screening services, and initiatives addressing social determinants of health dependent on the individual project. Maintain tracking and database of project deliverables. Collect, record and track project outcomes and activities including quantitative assessments/surveys and qualitative photos/testimonials. The Community Programs Specialist is the first point of entry and main point of contact to the internal project team, external stakeholders and faculty, both in telephone and email communication. The Community Programs Specialist will need to have strong research, writing, organizational and communication (oral and written) skills and will be a point of contact for key external stakeholders. This is a part time position.

Project Coordination

  • Manage the coordination and execution of activities with multiple projects.
  • Work with Community Programs Manager and internal/external partners and volunteers to ensure project deliverables and goals are achieved.
  • With Community Programs Manager, assist in project budget development, monitoring and accountability with budget guidelines.

Analysis and Research
  • Maintain tracking and database of project deliverables.
  • Collect, record and track project outcomes and activities including quantitative assessments/surveys and qualitative photos/testimonials.
  • Analyze data to improve projects.

Staff and Volunteer Management
  • Assist with the recruitment, training and oversight of volunteers involved in any projects.
  • Conduct regularly project team meetings.

Communications
  • Assist with development of grant applications and designing of new programs.
  • Assist with project reporting requirements for grants.
  • Present to internal and external partners on projects.
  • Maintain relationships with project stakeholders and core collaborators.
  • Work with Community Programs Manager and project team members to develop program materials, community outreach and educational materials, presentations, and executive summaries, as needed.
  • Work with Communications department to provide stories, thoughts and ideas for digital and social media, as needed.

Skills and Abilities
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to discern priorities from secondary responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating and coordinating with early learning and school settings, community agencies, higher institutions, volunteers, and others.
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to multitask and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain records and data to support effective evaluation processes and analysis.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Master's degree preferred in public health, community health, child behavioral health, child psychology, education (early childhood and elementary school) or related field
  • Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) preferred
  • At least one year of experience required (or Master's degree in lieu of experience)
