Orrick’s global Capital Markets team seeks Associates or Managing Associates with two to six years of equity and/or debt capital markets experience who desires to join our dynamic and innovative legal team.  The successful candidates can be based in any of our Boston, DC, New York, Austin, Houston, Los Angeles, Orange County, Portland, Sacramento, San Francisco, Seattle, or Silicon Valley offices.

Our Capital Markets team advises both public companies and private companies.  We advise more than 2,700 startup clients across our practices worldwide, representing clients in their growth through the initial public offering process.  As a member of our Capital Markets team, you will advise late stage private tech companies on their corporate governance and public company readiness, as well as public listings including direct listings, IPOs, and SPACs.  

Orrick’s Capital Markets leading clients include Williams-Sonoma, The Gap, Beyond Meat, Twist Bioscience, Fisker, Luminar, Symantec/NortonLifeLock, Levi’s, Green Dot, and Varian Medical Systems, among others.  We also represent many of the leading investment banks such as Bank of America, Merrill Lynch, Barclays, Citigroup, Deutsche Bank Securities, Goldman Sachs, J.P. Morgan, Morgan Stanley, RBC Capital Markets and UBS Investment Bank.

The ideal candidate has major law firm experience, a commitment to excellent client service, and significant experience in public securities offerings of both equity and debt.  Bonus for experience representing public companies.  We are looking for a candidate that has served as the lead associate on securities offerings as both issuer and underwriter counsel, or a candidate that can step into a leadership role.  Strong interpersonal skills and a motivated, entrepreneurial outlook are essential.  Candidates must also possess excellent academic credentials along with superior communication and organizational skills, and Bar membership in the state where they wish to practice.
