Tetra Tech is currently seeking a Risk Management Administrator to work in our Pasadena, CA corporate headquarters. In this position you will function as the central point of control and management for risk and claims transactions worldwide. This role reports to the Senior Vice President of Corporate Administration.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Claims/Legal Management

  • Manage Workers Compensation program, including coordinating with Workers Compensation and Health & Safety Administrators company-wide, working with a third party administrator to manage claims and litigation expeditiously in accordance with state statutes, advising on any claims that are out of the ordinary, and evaluating and approving settlements
  • Manage the Auto and General Liability insurance programs, including claim handling and review, litigation management, evaluating and recommending settlements. Analyze loss data to identify and highlight needed loss control measures. Conduct quarterly claim and reserve reviews with both AIG AND Zurich
  • Conduct quarterly claims and reserve reviews with the third party administrators (both AIG and Zurich now) and our insurance broker (AON)
  • Oversee the Property program, including claim reporting and handling
  • Review insurance clauses in project contracts and leases, suggesting alternative language and assisting in negotiation of such language, where necessary
  • Intranet - maintain and update our Intranet page as needed

Risk Finance Management

  • Coordinate and facilitate Annual Workers Compensation, General Liability and Auto Audits, ensuring that audits are completed in a timely manner and working with the auditor to ensure all questions are answered and all issues are resolved
  • Develop and communicate insurance allocation methodology to subsidiaries, monitoring and adjusting allocations throughout the year, ensuring that methods are following our financial auditors, SOX and government auditors (DCAA)
  • Analyze and report financial performance of Workers Compensation, Auto and General Liability Reserve Funds. Provide Corporate Finance and Financial Auditors quarterly reports on reserve adequacy. Work with Actuaries to ensure loss forecasts are reasonable
  • Process and track payments of insurance premiums as well as Workers Compensation, Auto and General Liability deductible bills
  • Update and discuss division loss run reports, providing technical information, guidance and assistance
  • Oversee the payment of Workers Compensation Premiums and Filings in Monopolistic States
  • EMR. Review and monitor payroll for proper reporting. Develop an improved method of informing and training Human Resource team members periodically, in classifying payroll correctly
  • Yearly Insurance Renewal Preparation - including gathering and preparing underwriting information for renewals, evaluation of carriers, levels of coverage and retention, and analyzing costs
  • Due diligence on new acquisitions, including premium comparisons to determine if it makes sense for them to join our Corporate Insurance Program

Requirments & Preferred Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related discipline required
  • 10 years minimum experience in risk and claims management in a large, corporate environment
