Job Summary:

The Credit / Risk Specialist will work the functions of the Underwriting and Risk teams as a shared resource. The Credit - Risk Specialist will split their day by focusing the first four hours on pulling underwriting and compliance documentation for UW review. Followed by working the remaining four hours per day performing exception reporting within Risk, evaluating transaction exception data, assessing potential risk exposure, and initiating basic risk investigations. This position requires strict attentiveness to details within the merchant applications and displaying outstanding customer service with regular interaction with merchants via telephone.

Summary of Essential Job Functions

  • Investigating and analyzing new merchant applications submitted by partners and sales team, while adhering to the companies SLA
  • Pull underwriting and compliance documentation
  • Provide outstanding oral and written customer service skills to both merchants, and sales partners
  • Able to read and understand credit reports
  • Able to thoroughly review UW documents and identify potential risk
  • Assesses and apply risk parameters according to business needs
  • Able to work in a team environment
  • Demonstrates the ability to solve critical business issues using all resources, in a faced pace atmosphere
  • Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills, in a dynamic and fast-paced environment as well as be able to work independently in a professional manner
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records

  • Communicate with internal/external customers and across departments
  • Demonstrate sound financial decision-making capabilities
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • 1 to 2 years' experience as a credit analyst, risk investigations or underwriting or commiserate background within the merchant processing industry.
  • Basic computer literacy
  • Strong investigative and logical skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • 2-4 years of Bankcard Acquiring preferred
  • Strong relationship management skills
  • Strong ability to multi-task under an extreme pressure/time sensitive environment
  • Quality focused with a passion for continued growth and improvement

Preferable Experience

  • Knowledge with \u0026ldquo;Access One\u0026rdquo; system
  • Knowledge with \u0026ldquo;Row Nets\u0026rdquo; First Data/Fiserv Platform
  • Bi-Lingual (Spanish)

Office Environment

  • Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm
  • Job Type: Full-Time, Dallas, TX
  • Business casual office environment
