Job Summary

The customer service representative (CSR) is responsible for taking and verifying the accuracy of customer orders prior to placing the order into the Oracle system. The CSR is expected to use independent analysis and judgment skills to answer customer inquiries and resolve problems related to the customer's account, pricing or order status via phone, email, or fax. This position requires collaborative efforts with the engineering, production, and shipping departments. With comprehensive experience the customer service representative can move into jobs that involve more skill and greater responsibility.

Ability to effectively write and read English

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to react quickly to resolve problems

Strong attention to detail for order accuracy

Strong follow up skills

Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with others toward mutual objectives

Knowledge of MS Office Software

Oracle experience preferred

Must be able to work overtime when warranted

Specific Responsibilities

Enter customer purchase orders into the Oracle system.

Verify the accuracy of each order received and entered.

Monitor the shared Customer Service email to problem solve, answer inquiries and delegate as needed to support our customers both internal and external.

Maintain close relationship with Engineering, Production and Shipping to coordinate the timely shipments of product.

Pull invoices, purchase orders and shipping paperwork for monthly and quarterly audits.

Scan the daily shipping paperwork in the shared drive.

Respond to inquiries and/or notify customers both internal and external for order status and possible delays.

Use knowledge of product line, prices, delivery time, drop ship items, various marketing promotional services, and similar data, as required.

Work closely with accounting personnel on new and existing customer credit issues.

Other duties as assigned


Three years minimum experience with ERP systems

Proven customer service experience


High school diploma required

Physical Requirements

Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Hearing: Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels or without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and make fine discriminations in sound.
