What will I be doing?

As the Manager, Data Management, you will lead all aspects of the development and delivery of data projects and releases to support business goals for Hilton. You will interact directly with business users, vendors, and support teams to identify and provide creative solutions in response to business concepts and questions to ensure data assets are delivered to a suitable standard. You will work closely with members of the EADT and Analytics to establish priorities, collect requirements, build detailed designs, and schedule releases. You will bring a strong functional and technical background to help represent functional requirements. You will also partner with the data engineering, business teams, and vendors to implement and deliver integrated solutions.

More specifically, you will:

  • Work with key partners and resources, structuring the resources and activities of the department/project so objectives are accomplished. Work with key partners in anticipating and understanding business requirements and implementation and delivery of data solutions.
  • Ability to understand business strategy, objectives, and goals of the team and be able to effectively engage in meetings and supply team and leaders with applicable content
  • Disseminate, organize, and communicate regarding assignments and projects within the department/data management team.
  • Evaluate and streamline data management framework processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness within the team.
  • Develop and maintain documentation on data assets to include, development of clear business requirements, define and maintain metadata of data assets across domains in a logically structured and easily understandable format
  • Ensure data implementation projects are executed in accordance with the data strategy and architecture requirements.
  • Complete key data analysis tasks to include, data profiling, source to target mapping, and development of Data Quality rules for ingestion and enhancement of data assets
  • Coordinate and complete key testing activities during the data development lifecycle to ensure data assets meet business requirements and are ready for deployment.
  • Support ongoing maintenance of data assets by performing in-depth analysis and determine root causes of incidents
  • Create and update support documentation and review of work product
  • Optimally integrate, contribute, and overlap with other functions within Enterprise Data Architecture Team
  • Work with the Technical teams and business partners to articulate tasks, risks, dependencies, and data mitigation plans.
  • Provide direction and directives to team members in the performance of their duties, establishing work priorities, and achieving management objectives.

  • The ability to work through ambiguity and maintain task focus towards delivery with minimal supervision is key
  • Can work under challenging deadlines and constraints to deliver

To fulfill this role successfully, you should demonstrate the following minimum qualifications:
  • Seven (7) years of professional experience in technology or a related field
  • Experience with Agile, specifically requirements definition, developing business use cases, and testing
  • Knowledge of Hadoop, Hive, and the AWS platform
  • Experience writing SQL queries to validate data
  • A history of successfully managed data migration/implementation projects in accordance with data strategy and architecture

It would be helpful in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:
  • Bachelor's Degree, or Associate Degree plus six (6+) years of Technology related experience, or High School Degree/GED plus twelve (12+) years of Technology related experience
  • Nine (9)+ years of professional experience in technology or a related field
  • Experience in the Amazon Redshift data warehousing toolset
  • Experience developing documentation on data assets

For Colorado applicants only: The annual salary range for this role starts at $81,000 and is based on applicable and specialized experience and location. Hilton offers its eligible team members a comprehensive benefits package including medical and prescription drug coverage, dental coverage, vision coverage, life insurance, short-and long-term disability insurance, a 401(k) savings plan, paid time off, and our travel discount. Subject to plan terms and conditions, you will be eligible to participate in the Hilton Annual Incentive (Bonus) Plan consistent with other team members at the same level and/or position within the Company.
