We are looking for a highly motivated leader to design, build, and scale the next phase of our digital sales team. This role can be remote or based in one of our office locations.

As an on-demand bare metal service that is growing within Equinix (the leading colocation and interconnection provider), success-based selling is essential to Equinix Metal's growth. The Director of Digital Sales will be responsible for leading the team that serves on the front lines of our fast-growing digital platform, accelerating user adoption, and ensuring growth from key accounts. Our sales motion follows a land and expand model, which means the majority of customers engage with (and are often sourced by) the Digital team.

What Youll Do:

As the Director of Digital Sales you will have accountability for:

  • Owning initial engagement with prospects, regardless of source.
  • Partnering with marketing and others on targeted outbound campaigns.
  • Qualifying prospects and helping them achieve evaluation and project goals.
  • Closing net new business by converting on-demand usage to committed contracts.
  • Managing for expansion and mitigating churn on named digital accounts.
  • Building and training a dynamic, curious team of success-based sellers.
  • Integrating technical and business resources in support of complex solutions.
  • Ensuring a strong connection between pre and post-sales customer experience.
  • Partnering closely with Field and Strategic sales teams on target accounts.
  • Working with Sales Operations, Marketing and others to use metrics and data.
  • Aligning with executives at Packet and across Equinix to scale a proven process

Who You Are:

  • You have experience defining cloud strategy for SMBs, mid-market and Enterprises.
  • You have 5+ years of management experience in consultative/complex sales processes
  • You have 5+ years experience managing ODRs, Account Executives and Account Managers
  • You have experience in network automation and DevOps (preferred).
  • You are comfortable preparing and leading client and partner presentations at all levels.
  • You are able to perform business travel (up to 50%)
  • You are passionate about infrastructure, interconnection, and hybrid multi-cloud.
  • You are deeply experienced in leading both hardware and software product sales cycles.
  • You are able to easily connect with both technical and business stakeholders.
  • You are confident in managing and empowering technical team members as well as technical customers and sales processes.
  • You are a master team builder, able to bring new people into the businesses and help chart their path to personal growth and success.
  • You take initiative, use creativity, and value collaboration in solving complex problems
  • You are able to partner closely with product management and sales enablement teams to understand and rollout new use cases and features regularly.
  • You have proven experience with outbound campaigns and can scale a program in collaboration with other teams to drive business while ensuring brand integrity.
  • You have a strong understanding of the open source landscape and how customers can leverage tools like Kubernetes, Terraform and Ansible with bare metal and interconnection.
  • And most importantly, you have a passion for this industry and the vision were working towards
