NI is hiring a Director - Diversity, Equity & Inclusion located at headquarters in Austin, Texas.

About the Role

The DEI leader (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) is responsible for comprehensive workforce diversity, equity, and inclusion programs at NI. The successful candidate will lead the setting of our DEI strategy, program goals, and metrics working with the organization to drive those outcomes that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion through communications, education, and leadership actions. Assist with compliance activities related to internal and external policies, laws, and regulations, such as Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). Utilizes diversity reporting and analysis of metrics as lead and lag indicators of success for activity outcomes, checking and adjusting those activities as necessary in collaboration with other HR and Marketing Stakeholders.

Role Essentials

  • Designs and implements a holistic, wide diversity, equity, and inclusion strategy by identifying key opportunities and gaps to build a long-term plan and measure progress against critical commitments and results.

  • Serves as a thought leader in the organization on diversity, equity, and inclusion, bringing innovation, creative approaches, and best practices that make a real impact on NI practices and culture.

  • Partners with key leaders across the organization to drive accountability and transparency around targeted systemic improvements.

  • Develops and delivers on-going education, training, and communications to internal stakeholders on all diversity, equity, and inclusion matters.

  • Collaborates, influences, and reviews system-wide communications and messaging to ensure that diversity, equity, and inclusion are considered and integrated into all aspects of NI's internal and external communications.

  • Manages and Oversees Employee Resource Groups (ERGs), providing inspirational leadership, guidance, and direction. Ensures the groups have the appropriate resources and level of influence within the organization.

  • Advises, partners, and collaborates with other HR functions, including Talent Acquisition, diversity, equity, and inclusion programs and initiatives.

  • Chairs the quarterly Global DEI Council Meetings with Senior Leaders

  • Establishes and is responsible for adherence to the budget for all D&I-related activities. Continuously refines the budget to identify cost savings and efficiencies.

  • Successfully develops, implements, and communicates a 5-year business plan with stated goals, objectives, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to create a best-in-class program that can be adopted globally

  • Develops an employee engagement strategy to help build communities and culture and improve NI cultural practices.

  • Awareness of DEI as a top cultural priority by all NI employees

  • Engaging business leaders and creating partnerships around the globe to drive DEI culture at NI

  • You have a positive and clear communication style.
  • Qualifications

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in diversity and inclusion or relevant experience developing and implementing diversity and inclusion strategies and programs globally

  • 5+ years of experience in a people leadership role.

  • Proven experience engaging and influencing senior leadership and other key stakeholders.

  • Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills

  • Experience designing and partnering with internal SMEs to create DEI programs for underrepresented and underserved populations.
