Responsibilities

Dematic is growing and has a critical need for a capable leader in our North America Indirect Procurement organization. The role has matrixed reporting to both Dematic SCS SVP of Procurement and KION Global VP of Indirect Procurement. We are seeking the right individual to lead and drive the NA team to new levels of Indirect Procurement excellence. This is a critical role with significant and strategic impact on the various categories within Indirect; primarily IT, Marketing, Temp Staffing, MRO, etc.





The successful candidate will need to focus the team on service level agreements, best value and a compliance mindset. He or she will need to demonstrate exceptional leadership capability, stakeholder management and team coaching/development. This individual will need to be a hands-on Director willing and able to support category growth, supplier engagement and functional collaboration.





To further support the organization, he or she will work on the development of KPIs, promote knowing your suppliers by category, adhering to Procurement processes and procedures and supporting the global initiatives of the extended team. The expectation is that the successful candidate will have experience working cross-functionally with Finance and Legal to support consistent contractual documentation and repetitive monthly metrics.





Identifying, evaluating, and capitalizing on opportunities to reduce purchasing costs by improving the organizations buying patterns and supply channels. Leverage data analytics to profile spend categories, apply strategic sourcing and lean supply chain methodologies, and promote ongoing supplier performance management are all key contributions to this role.



Working with the Category Leads of Indirect Procurement to evaluate, negotiate, and manage supplier relationships to secure terms that are in the organizations best interest. They will need to work with the functional leaders to support budget adherence, analysis of proposals to find the best fit and functional suppliers at market cost or less.





  • Help category leads with funnel alignment to support monthly walk that contributes to overall Procurement P&L contribution

  • Alignment with Sunbeam elements actioning as needed

  • Support / lead strategic supplier negotiations to ensure optimal contractual terms and maximize value (quality, delivery, cost, cash, and innovation)

  • Collaborate with key internal stakeholders to ensure alignment with company and customer strategic priorities and flow down requirements

  • Identify supplier risk and develop mitigation countermeasures to ensure seamless transition of suppliers

  • Manage / monitor category spend data and market analytics to build a culture of agility, responsiveness, and long-term saving strategies

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 8-10 years in Procurement with at least 5 years of senior management (Sr. Manager or Director)

  • BS degree in Business Administration or similar discipline

  • In-depth Indirect Procurement experience in multi-billion business

  • Proven global and regional management experience as a procurement leader or procurement executive

  • Proven supplier performance management skills

  • Proven expertise in negotiating complex contracts in dynamic supply environment

  • Good knowledge of supplier or third party management software, SAP/ERP

  • Financial acumen and demonstrated aptitude in analytics and decision-making

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills and good global cultural awareness

  • Experience managing in a matrix organization

  • Ability to influence, build relationships, and promote solutions without direct authority

  • Strong leadership and remote management capabilities

  • Ability to travel 20-30%, with some international travel

  • Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) preferred
