About the role:

Join us as a Director, Market Access and Channel Strategy - Hematology. This position can be based in either Lexington, MA or Cambridge, MA. You will report to the Sr. Director, Market Access and Channel Strategy.

Here, everyone matters, and you will be a vital contributor to our inspiring, bold mission as a Director, Market Access and Channel Strategy working on the Patient and Market Access team.

How you will contribute:

  • Develop and oversee sustainable US market access and channel strategies that will allow patients to gain access to Takeda's existing and future products
  • Responsible for value story development, payer/PBM contracting strategy, pricing, specialty pharmacy and distribution plans, reimbursement and payer / channel marketing resources for in-line and pipeline products
  • Position and market the Hematology - Rare Disease Business Unit (RDBU) as a valued partner to targeted payer and channel customers
  • Ensure close collaboration with other Patient and Market Access colleagues along with Medical, HEOR, Marketing, Finance, Analytics and Sales teams to capture relevant payer and channel insights, identify data gaps, develop compelling value propositions and ensure field-based teams are equipped with the right tools.
  • Understand reimbursement landscape and incorporate into market access & pricing strategy
  • Collaborate with HEOR in the development of payer evidence needs and ensure it is integrated into the Medical/HEOR evidence plan
  • Ensure brand plans incorporate the needs of patients, payers, channel and healthcare providers
  • Align organization on metrics to assess impact of key market access strategies and tactics
  • Contribute to annual brand planning, forecasting and budgeting process to represent payer and channel customer segment
  • Partner with New Product Planning and Business Development functions to inform market access inputs and strategies for early-stage / targeted assets
  • Identify payer/ system specific opportunities for innovative arrangements based on brand strategies in collaboration with Strategic Partnerships
  • Develop deep access capabilities across BU's franchises
  • Oversee all payer and channel market research within BU
  • Work to actively develop next generation of Market Access and Channel Strategy talent

Technical / Functional Expertise:
  • Experience with US payer market dynamics and how managed care organizations make decisions across commercial and public channels.
  • Experience and knowledge across multiple market access channels including: payer, PBM, IDN, distribution, specialty pharmacy, GPO' s
  • Experience leading market access launch readiness planning and implementation
  • Experience with Commercial brand planning process.
  • Financial knowledge including resource allocation, budget management and reporting, strategic sourcing and P&L evaluation.
  • Strong analytical capabilities to ensure robust inputs to decision-making

  • Have strong leadership, business acumen and ability to manage multiple priorities, processes, timelines and expectations of multiple stakeholder groups. Inspire and lead innovation and synergies across teams to maximize team productivity and outcomes to support overall portfolio
  • Refine team strategy based on anticipated future changes. Projects future trends of the industry and global forces to make adjustments
  • Process complex information and summarize it in writing and/or verbally in a professional manner and in a time sensitive environment is required.
  • Experience in development of targeted briefings for executive leadership, senior management and business leaders
  • Skills as a team player who can engender credibility within and outside our organization

Complexity

What you bring to Takeda:

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field.
  • Preferred 8+ years of experience in healthcare, some experience in market access a plus
  • Knowledge of rare or specialty market access preferred.

Updated Takeda U.S. Vaccine Requirement:
