The Director of Business Operations is an integral part of the Global Demand Center and Field Marketing organization, a team of more than 130 global marketers. The charter of the Business Operations lead is to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the Global Demand Center and Field Marketing teams by developing communications, business rhythms/norms and programs that remove obstacles and drive deeper collaboration and transparency. This strategic and facilitative role requires a combination of focus and flexibility, as well as a willingness to play an active and sometimes behind-the-scenes role.

The ideal candidate has proven experience working closely with executives in a fast-paced environment and applying strong consultative skills, including business acumen, customer empathy, and the ability to influence and partner. This person thrives in a dynamic, global, fluid, matrix environment and is results-focused, is comfortable leading from both the front and the rear, as situations dictate.

The successful candidate will collaborate, negotiate, and establish plans across the Global Demand Center and Field Marketing teams while partnering across Marketing & CX leaders, Sales, Customer Success, Finance, HR, Procurement, Product Management, and Technology Services, Learning & Development, and Business Operations leaders company wide. This position does not manage direct reports but is required to mentor and coach throughout the GMCX GDC and Field team.

Responsibilities

  • Operating rhythms, norms, and routines: Manage operating rhythm that facilitates decision-making, autonomy, leadership alignment, and team engagement, inclusive of staff meetings, operational reviews, leadership off sites, All Hands, etc. This also includes annual, quarterly, and weekly review and planning. Set the agenda, ensure preparation, participate in the meetings, document decisions, and communicate outcomes.
  • Innovative workflow and process improvement and effectiveness: Identifying gaps or improvements, designing proposed changes, socializing with leadership, and developing policies and/or processes necessary to implement decisions made by the leadership team.
  • Strategic initiative management: Act as the escalation point and air traffic control across domains the team to manage the integrated governance, risk management and strategic alignment for the most important initiatives.
  • Special project planning and execution: Serve as on-the-ground execution for a wide variety of cross-functional projects for the leadership team. Ability to navigate internal networks and build internal consensus is important.
  • Strategic thinker: Bring outside-in thinking to the organization, highlighting industry trends and customer needs that should be considered and evaluated.
  • Outcome and metrics tracking/reporting: Work closely with leaders across the organization (incl Performance Management and Revenue Operations) to develop goals, and Objectives, and Key Results; develop systems and scorecard for managing performance against those goals. Ensure that our key efforts and initiatives are aligned to our strategic priorities.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Refine organizational operations, enabling GMCX GDC and Field team members to focus on outcomes vs. process. Develop GDC and Field Marketing communications and presentations. Propose and coordinate presentations to internal/external audiences; ensure consistent content across all channels.
  • Flexibility. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree, MBA a plus
  • 12 years experience in Marketing or Sales, Field Marketing, Program Management, or Business Operations
  • Passion for bringing the customer to the forefront of every business discussion
  • Outstanding written, verbal and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated executive maturity, with experience influencing employees from entry level to C-level
  • Consistent track record of building, supporting and managing resources across multiple cross-functional teams and geographies
  • Program management skills of leadership, foresight, critical thinking, conflict management and risk management, in addition to bullet-proof planning, organization, and analysis
  • Experience leading multiple, simultaneous complex programs, through ambiguity and redefinition, with work streams spanning different businesses and fields
  • Strong business and marketing acumen
  • Demonstrated use of analytics to evaluate and define both issues and solutions

  • Basic excel modeling

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Duties are performed in a normal office environment while sitting at a desk or computer table.
  • Duties require the ability to utilize a computer, communicate over the telephone, and read printed material.
  • Duties may require being on call periodically or working outside normal working hours (evenings and weekends).
