Job Summary:

The Director of GDWM, Client and Partner Engagement plays a critical role in the Wealth Management (WM) Goals Driven Wealth Management Practice. This position is responsible for ensuring that the priorities of Practice Leadership, Firm to Firm, and the Northern Trust Institute are reflected in GDWM best practice, training material and initiatives, client facing content, and future GPS development efforts. This is achieved through a deep understanding of current state best practices, processes and capabilities, tight collaboration with Practice Leadership, incorporation of partner feedback and pain points, OKRs and other operational metrics, and an understanding of the external competitor and vendor landscape. This position will play a key role in supporting overall partner adoption and adherence to best practice, executing on client and partner focused strategic initiatives, participating and/or leading POCs and special projects, and representing GDWM through internal and external demos and key client and prospect engagements. Coordination and collaboration with broader WM leadership, client facing teams, operations, practice, and technology teams will be critical to the success of this role.

Major Duties:

1. Collaborate with the broader WM GDWM Practice to develop and implement the strategic vision for Client and Partner Engagement in GDWM in areas such as adherence to best practice, prioritized training, and capability and process optimization.

2. Drive adoption of core investment and holistic advice capabilities with client facing teams while ensuring that monitoring tool exceptions are minimized and new capabilities are being utilized and adopted.

3. Create, monitor, and execute strategic initiatives to improve current state client and partner engagement.

4. Develop and lead the training and change management content related to client and partner experience best practices and emerging process and capability improvements

5. Develop and manage strong relationships with Regional and Practice Leadership and other key internal stakeholders (e.g., operations, digital services, risk) to identify future enhancement opportunities and to ensure alignment with the priorities of those teams 6. Serve as a subject matter expert with the field and deliver GDWM demos to internal and external stakeholders

7. Engage with investment, banking, sales, and advisory leaders and advisory teams across the country, soliciting feedback and providing guidance on prioritized areas of focus and the existing capability set

8. Ensure training and onboarding materials are updated to include emerging thought leadership and new features and capabilities

9. Develop a deep understanding of the competitive landscape in order to identify GDWM key differentiators and to inform potential future enhancements both in process and capability

10. Inform strategic vision, help advocate for funding, and lead QBR funded capability enhancement initiatives

11. Manage and develop high performing team

12. Seasoned multi-disciplinary expert with extensive technical and/or business knowledge and functional expertise

13. Provides leadership and guidance to staff, fostering an environment that encourages employee participation, teamwork, and communication

Qualifications:

Strong analytical skills, including experience in strategic problem solving. Excellent interpersonal, communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills. Well organized, detail oriented and disciplined in approach. Ability to work effectively within a collegial, team environment. High degree of integrity and strives to share with the team in success. Self-directed with ability to escalate as needed Passion for wealth management, partner experience improvement, and driving improvements. Demonstrable experience in strategy and project management with track record of successful execution. Leadership and organizational skills are required to determine goals, resources needed, and to assess and develop the skills of staff.

Experience Required: 10+ years' experience working in wealth/investment management. Quantitative educational background with academic success and/or relevant certifications highly desired (e.g., MBA, CFA, CIMA, PhD). Deep knowledge of WM National Investment or Advisory Practice capabilities and experience as a client facing partner a plus.
