The District Sales Leader is responsible for the overall coordination, functional management, strategy development and leadership for all regional sales activities of the CST business in the District.
Defines, implements, supervises and drives strategic direction, execution, objectives and targets for the CST business in the central and northwestern regions of Spain in accordance with country and region strategy, to gain maximum profitable sales and market share. Allocates and utilizes Medtronic resources in the most effective way. Identifies and grows human talent and builds/develops a strong, performance driven team to enhance Medtronic's reputation in the market.

Planning and execution of Sales Plans and strategies
Defines and ensure execution of the revenue and commercial action plans in the district in line with the CST strategy.
Ensure the Market leadership position of Medtronic Spinal and Enabling Technologies in the district by creating strategies aimed to gain market share and to recover customer`s perception that Medtronic is the Leading Company.
Permanently evaluates sales actuals versus plan in high attention to the details and intervenes in an efficient and timely manner in the case of deviations.
Be a key change agent in the transformations processes of the CST OU such as omnichannel, Spinal Business Transformation (SBT) and SUSY development.
Develops/defines the yearly CST Business Plan by Sales Rep, sets challenging (Sales etc.) targets and objectives for the area sales representatives for both Spinal and ET businesses.
Efficiently manages all business relevant assets (consignment inventory, car stocks, local warehouses) to avoid unnecessary expenses exposures.
Create, define and update strategic account plan & stakeholder analysis.
Tender process: direction, follow up & coordination internally and externally.
Help and coach the Sales Reps in how to analyses market size, competitive market landscape and other information from all sources and develop strategies to improve sales, decrease cost levels and increase market share for all CST product lines.
Ensures/drives execution of strategies and ad-hoc plans aligned with Marketing and the CST Commercial Leads as well as other District Managers.
Builds strong and lasting relationships with key decision makers and those influential in the purchasing process to enhance the Medtronic Brand and Image.
Leverage together with the ET& Robotics Manager and the CST Director the Surgical Synergy Strategy and the development of the Robotics market for Spinal in the Orthopedic and Neurosurgery departments.
Provides business and field input in country-specific initiatives and actively participates in, and supports the implementation of initiatives and strategic programs on a cross-divisional base. In this function the CST District Manager actively collaborates with in-country key account managers and provides all support to maximize the business result for the entire corporation.

Sets and communicates targets and objectives for the area Sales representatives and their team.
Coaches Sales Representatives and monitors progression of results on a team and individual level. Evaluates individual and team results versus targets. Assesses team members versus the Sales Force Competencies and in daily practice (during regular "ride-alongs") and provides constructive feedback. Intervenes whenever appropriate to ensure expectations/targets/competency levels are met. Coaches and energizes incumbents in a constructive way. Manages conflict in an adequate and constructive way.
Schedules and chairs country meetings to provide team members with business information, changes to business plans, Medtronic policies, new products and services, and organizational changes etc.

Internal and administrative
Proactively reports all market, account, and competitive information and trends (e.g., key decision makers, implant rate) in a complete and timely fashion.
Immediately and accurately reports all negative customer or product related events, e.g. customer feedback or other (legal) issues and risks etc.
Plans and prepares sales and expense forecasts by territory, product and therapy for the division.
Carries out all administrative duties and all necessary reports in a timely and diligent manner.
Attends all required national and regional meetings.


Degree in Engineering, Life-science, Marketing, Business Administration or Biology or another relevant, advanced degree
Demonstrated Good selling techniques and excellent selling strategies including clinical selling with a track record of success in his previous positions.
Advanced Negotiation skills and Strategic Thinking
Thorough knowledge of the healthcare industry and the decision-making process with customers (economic buyer, reimbursement)
Fluency in English
Leadership and effective communication
At least 5 years' experience in the medical industry, of which minimum 3 years in a sales role

Advanced People Management skills, strong leader and motivator.
Previous experience in Trauma or Neuro market or in a similar role.
Used to work in very competitive markets
Used to work in very diverse teams (multidisciplinary or cross functional)
Experience as Project or functional leader

Proven ability to effectively operate and communicate in a matrix environment and work effectively with sales management, physician customers, and across division and organizational boundaries
Successful track record with sales results
Ability to manage a sales team and network
Proven track record to work independently, while achieving aggressive personal and geographic objectives. Highly motivated, "can do" attitude with strongly influential management skills
Proven track record of good judgment. Demonstrated integrity and respect of peers and subordinates
Proven track record in business planning analysis and strategic planning
Computer literacy
Full clean driver license
