We are looking for driven and talented individuals to join our growing Substrate Manufacturing Technical Operations (MTO) team. This Engineer 1 will provide technical and operations support to Flow Cell on-market product lines, new product introduction, production process development, continuous improvement activities, sustaining efforts, and product transfers. This will be achieved by partnering cross-functionally with R & D, Quality, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and other engineering groups.


  • Troubleshoot production line issues related to yield, quality, and throughput.

  • Work cross-functionally with R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, Validation, and other engineering groups to sustain, refine, and improve processes for our current production line.

  • Analyze test results, issue reports, and make technical recommendations for process changes and improvements.

  • Define and execute controlled experiments (including DOE's) to provide process optimization, address yield and quality issues, reduce cost, and drive implementation of solutions in an ongoing production environment.

  • Define technical requirements and write procedures.

  • Define and drive execution of validation plans and protocols.

  • Work on cross functional teams to design, develop and transfer new processes/products to production and enhance their robustness.

  • Support cross site alignment.

  • Work experience in high volume medical device, biotech, or semiconductor industries desirable.

  • Experience with chemical processes (preferably organic) preferred.

  • High level problem-solving and reasoning skills required.

  • Experience applying statistics, Statistical Process Control, and DOE techniques is a plus.

  • High level computer skills are required. Intermediate level programming knowledge is strongly desired. Experience with large data sets a plus.

  • Experience working in an ISO13485 or FDA certified environment is a plus.

  • Detail-oriented, highly organized and ability to multi-task are essential. Good interdepartmental communication skills and documentation skills are required.


  • B.S./M.S. in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Bioengineering, Materials Science, or Manufacturing Engineering, with 0~2 years of relevant experience in production support/sustaining and/or process definition and development, scale-up, improvement and validation. Recent college graduates are encouraged to apply.
