POSITION SUMMARY:

The Engineering Technician I is responsible for supporting cross functional teams to meet business development, validation, and production goals, through metrology and item ERP setup activities.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Maintain customer service levels for Scan and Measurement of standard requests, Development and Validation inspection requests, and customer complaint testing requests
  • Work with Engineering to develop and validate/verify measurement routines for the purposes of reverse engineering, and product/process validation.
  • Work with Engineers as necessary to improve standard processes and routines
  • Support the Product Control and Change Order processes
  • Assist in Product and Process Validation, and Customer Complaint Testing
  • Risk Analysis Activities including but not limited to DFMEA, PFMEA
  • Understand and execute SOPs and Work Instructions
  • Develop and Write SOPs and Work Instructions
  • Work independently as well as within the context of a team
  • Follow all established health and safety policies
  • Follow applicable work instructions
  • Follow established company policies
  • Other duties as assigned

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:

  • Computer literacy, knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office is required
  • Strong communication skills, math skills, written and verbal skills are required
  • Must be detail oriented
  • Self-starter with enthusiasm and ability to work in a team environment or independently in a fast paced and challenging environment is required
  • Familiarity with ISO standards, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and OSHA regulations is preferred
  • Must be able to determine color acuity
  • Ability to read, write and communicate in English
  • Dependability and ability to adapt to change are essential
  • Ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels of management

OTHER REQUIREMENTS (SPECIALIZED):

  • Some knowledge of CAD (i.e. Solid works /AutoCAD/Drafting Experience) is required
  • Knowledge of Geomagic inspection software is preferred
  • Must be capable of reading and understanding drawings, manuals, and engineering specifications
  • Working knowledge and familiarity with the use of micrometers, dial calipers, SmartScope/OGP, and other measuring devices is preferred
  • Understanding of Bill of Material (BOM) is required
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics) preferred.
  • Familiarity with Product and Process Validations and Risk Analysis FMEA/DFMEA is preferred

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma/GED required
  • Advanced coursework, AA/AS degree is preferred
