JOB SUMMARY:

This role is a combination of settlements preparation and analysis and advanced show analytics. The primary function for the settlement side of the job is to create, audit and process weekly, monthly and one off entertainment settlements for Live Entertainment Shows, Resident Artists and Special Events in Las Vegas with minimal supervision. This person will be responsible for the validity, accuracy and timeliness of data as well as payments to the shows/producers all under strict audit controls. The primary function for the show analytics portion of the job is the preparation and analysis of "internal views", ad hoc ticketing and show analysis, financial modeling and deal analysis, P&L analysis and reconciliation, preparation of journal entries, as well as other required financial reporting for the operations of the property. Stronger candidates will have budgeting and forecasting experience as well as advanced analytics experience.

KEY JOB FUNCTIONS :

  • Settlement Preparation - review & validate box office statements, prepare preliminary and final settlements for live entertainment shows (for both Resident Shows and Special Events) covering contractual provisions and show expenses. Maintains organized records to respond quickly and effectively to ad hoc questions as well as to meet all internal accounting and financial controls.
  • Financial Auditing - Audits the validity, accuracy and timeliness of data information and reconciles this data to the company records. Assembles data and back up for show accounting and analysis.
  • Payment Processing and Tactical Accounting Implementation - Reviews and verifies the accuracy of journal entries, accurate accounting of settlements for shows on wire transfer forms and confirmation of proper reflection on P&Ls, proper handling of labor, settlement or other accruals, working knowledge of GAAP principles.
  • Financial Analysis and P&L Review/Reconciliation - Maintain internal views of show profitability , ad hoc ticketing analysis, settlement & profitability analysis, reconcile settlement data to P&L results and verify P&L accuracy, analyze new show deal structures and contractual terms.
  • Prepares management reports which reflect clear, accurate and concise data analysis. Creates dynamic financial models to analyze deal structures and economics quickly and efficiently.
  • Drills into large data sources (primarily Ticketmaster/ticketing and Access) to summarize and analyze show results
  • Analyzes financial reports and records, making recommendations for improvement of show results based on settlement and P&L data
  • Accurately maintains accounting records for the prescribed time periods. Assists in assembling information for various local, state and federal audits and assists auditors as necessary
  • Provides analytical support for annual budgeting and forecasting

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • The ideal candidate will have business degree in marketing or finance and undergrad or on the job training in advanced analytics. Additional focus in accounting or on entertainment a plus.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Degree in Business Management, Finance or Marketing (with a focus on Marketing Analytics) and a working knowledge of GAAP with two to three years' experience in an analytical role preferred. Strength in advanced excel analytics required and ability to create queries in Access database required.
  • Must be able to work in a highly confidential, time sensitive environment with the highest degree of responsibility and ethics
  • Must have strong analytical capabilities as well as business acumen
  • Familiarity with entertainment contracts and entertainment audit experience a plus.
  • Experience in entertainment settlements, financial or marketing analytics a plus
  • Knowledge of Ticketmaster ticketing system a plus (Archtics)
  • Must have previously demonstrated team skills and leadership ability.
  • Must be able to multi-task, prioritize work/projects & stay organized.
  • Computer skills required, Microsoft Office knowledge and experience required (Basic Word, advanced Excel / strong PowerPoint with Access database knowledge a plus).
  • Must be able to get along with co-workers, work as a team and foster a positive working environment.
  • Must present a well-groomed appearance.
  • Ability to uphold and demonstrate the highest level of integrity in all situations and recognize standards required by a regulated business

WORK ENVIRONMENT :

  • Must be able to continuously maneuver around office, effectively work at a desk and respond to written and aural cues.
  • Must have the manual dexterity to operate the computer and other necessary office equipment. Must be able to respond calmly to demands of internal customers and work in pressure situations.
  • Must be able to work independently with significant attention to detail.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to handle more than one function at a time by being well organized.
  • Must be able to attend Live Entertainment events on occasion as required by the job (may be on weekends or evenings).
  • Must be able to work weekends when monthly or quarterly accounting preliminary close falls on weekend or holiday
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English. Must maintain highest standards of professional communication to internal and external parties.
