We offer our clients the region's largest team of attorneys and paralegals dedicated exclusively to the areas of estate planning and administration, business succession planning, charitable planning, and related areas of the law. We are seeking an experienced attorney to join our attorneys in our Estate, Succession and Tax Planning Practice Group. The position involves assisting clients with estate planning, business succession planning, wealth transfer planning, charitable planning, estate and trust administration, and related work.

The primary responsibilities of the role would include:

  • Consulting with and advising clients on sophisticated estate planning, business succession planning, wealth transfer planning, charitable planning, and estate and trust administration , tax planning, liquidity planning, asset protection planning and related work .
  • Drafting documents to implement all such planning;
  • Working with clients in connection with contested estate, trust and tax matters;
  • Preparing federal estate and gift tax returns (including complex reporting and valuation issues); and
  • Assisting clients in the establishment of private foundations and other charitable vehicles.

Qualifications
  • 6 - 10 years of legal experience, with significant exposure to sophisticated estate, succession and tax planning for high net worth clientele.
  • Knowledge of estate tax, gift tax, generation-skipping transfer tax, income tax and corporate / partnership tax.
  • Meaningful experience with sophisticated estate, charitable and wealth transfer planning techniques for affluent clients and families, including irrevocable trusts, gifting, family limited partnerships/limited liability companies, closely-held business planning, buy-sell agreements, GRATs, IDGTs, CRTs, private foundations and other tax planning strategies.
  • Ability to efficiently research tax and legal matters, draft documents, issue spot, propose and develop solutions.
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills, keen attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Applicants must currently be licensed, or currently eligible to become licensed, to practice law in Nebraska.
