Scope

The Multi-line
Executive Underwriting position is a key role within Commercial Insurances
rapidly growing Private Equity Industry Practice.This individual
will be expected to market and collaborate with all areas of Commercial
Insurance P&C, Financial Lines and A&H, but will have day-to-day
underwriting responsibilities for the core P&C segments for business produced
throughout the Midwest.Private Equity business is often
fast-paced.Confidence and experience in a variety of Underwriting
areas is integral to identifying the successful individual.This
role also serves as a key relationship conduit with our PE producer partners
throughout the Midwest Region, and collaborates internally with stakeholders in
our branch network and home office in the Private Equity practice.

Responsibilities

• Financial performance,
  including profit, rate, retention, and growth of an approximate $6 million
  book of multi-line Commercial business with a focus on customers with
  revenue up to $1B.


• Heavy emphasis on generating
  new, Private Equity-backed business with a goal of $1.5 million in
  premium.


• Articulate the Private
  Equity value proposition to leverage and sell our unique capabilities
  throughout the organization.


• Act as a resource for any CI
  Private Equity-backed portfolio company opportunity.This
  involves consulting with CI underwriters on transactional timelines,
  gathering underwriting information, reviewing the broker/agent due
  diligence and budget reports, and leveraging the Private Equity firm
  relationship.


• Contribute to the on-going
  data refinement of the Private Equity portfolio by tracking all PE-backed
  business, both new and renewal, so as to best aggregate data for the
  Private Equity P&L.


• Identifying cross sell
  opportunities within commercial insurance suite of products and services
  with particular emphasis on Financial Lines collaboration.


• Extensive collaboration with
  the Private Equity Industry Practice


• Dedicate the majority of
  travel and submission generation activities on the top tier Private
  Equity-focused agents/brokers throughout the Midwest, but also seek new
  opportunities to expand relationships with producers around the region in
  order to share and promote Chubbs Private Equity brand.


• Soliciting, selecting and
  analyzing risk within Chubbs Commercial Insurance guidelines and ensuring
  proper documentation within a timely manner.


• Developing and negotiating
  price, coverage, and terms and conditions for all new business and
  renewals and actively identifying account rounding opportunities.


• Collaborating with
  underwriters, risk engineering, operations, claims, branch management,
  marketing and home office product management.


• Travel is predominantly in
  the Midwest and requires approximately 25% of the underwriters time.

Qualifications

Solid knowledge of
commercial P&C underwriting and insurance industry theories and practices.

Demonstrated
technical expertise and product specific knowledge with experience handling
commercial P&C insurance lines.

Strong analytical
skills including financial analysis.

Demonstrated
proficiency in sales, marketing and negotiation, as well as a proven track
record of new business performance/success.

Strong interpersonal,
communication and relationship-building skills.

Ability to
effectively interact with all levels of internal and external business
partners.

Experience developing
and executing on marketing plans and prospecting initiatives.

Ability to be
creative and adaptable in a changing business environment.

Sound, balanced and
timely decision-making skills.

Knowledge of Microsoft
Office Suite as well as other business-related software.

Bachelors degree or
equivalent experience.

5+ years underwriting
experience preferred.
