Position Description:

The purpose of the position is to ensure that all properties are maintained to provide clean, safe, efficient, environmentally healthy and structurally sound facilities that offer staff and members the best possible atmosphere to conduct business.

Through supervision and coordination this position is responsible for all interior and exterior maintenance projects and new center set up performed by in-house facilities staff or contractor. This position is also responsible for leadership and coordination of internal department relocations, furniture reconfigurations and coordinates assigned activities with facilities staff, contractors and other center or department staff. This position assists the Manager of Facilities Operations with all space planning in existing locations.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the Supervision and coordination of maintenance projects through direct leadership of facilities staff or contractor. Schedules and coordinates projects with center, department management and contractors. Supervise, coordinate and perform alterations, furniture reconfigurations, Ergonomic adjustments and department moves within the Credit Union and works with the requestors to ensure tasks will be completed within required deadlines. Completes work order requests for staff.

  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors, providing direction on work to be performed, obtaining bids and coordinating selection, evaluating completed projects, and assuring that vendors/contractors are performing work as contracted and that work is completed as scheduled.

  • Provide leadership and direction to the facilities staff through on-going consultative engagement, and through formal performance reviews. Responsible for ensuring assigned staff members are equipped with personal protective equipment, are assigned the tools and equipment to complete tasks. Train and Develop Facilities staff in the skills and procedures required to fulfill company requirements.

  • Performs scheduled building inspections to meet standards set by the Regional Building Department, Fire Department, City Utilities, State Safety Inspections, ADA Regulations. Performs services that are noted as a result of the inspections that require immediate attention or follows up when time allows completing any noted items.

  • Responds to unexpected emergencies (such as power outages, equipment failures, damage to buildings, security breaches, and water and sewage concerns) and determines course of action.

  • Other duties as required

Minimum Formal Education Required for this Position:

Knowledge consistent with an Associates degree in Building Engineering, Building Trades, or related field.

Each year of relevant work experience may be exchanged for a year in a relevant degree program or vice versa. For example, a requirement of Knowledge Consistent with a Bachelors Degree in Accounting and 2+ years of accounting experience could be substituted for a High School Diploma and 6 years of relevant accounting work experience or a Masters Degree in Accounting and 0 years of work experience.

Minimum work experience:

6+ years experience in an industrial, commercial or facilities operations setting.

(Preferred) 1+ years experience coordinating, training, or supervising other staff

Technical or specialized knowledge/skills:

  • Strong project management skills for the coordination of efforts between staff and vendors/contractors.

  • Good organizational & communication skills for the coordination and development of Facilities staff.

  • General command of basic building maintenance skills to include, but not limited to, Carpentry, Electrical systems, Fire/Safety systems, Plumbing, HVAC, Painting, and Grounds Maintenance.

  • General command of basic motor vehicle maintenance.

  • Knowledge and skill in the types and uses of small hand-held tools, power tools, lock and lock assemblies, painting materials

  • Knowledge of safety practices and procedures followed in connection with maintenance tasks including, but not limited to electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems, machine operation, climbing equipment (ladders, scaffolds, rigging, etc.), hand-tools, chemical solvents, and cleaning agents.

  • Knowledge of state and local laws, rules, regulations and codes governing buildings, electrical systems, HVAC systems, plumbing systems and landscaping.

  • Ability to maintain records.

  • Ability to perform basic math.

  • Ability to read and interpret such documents as technical and equipment operation manuals, plans, specifications, blueprints, etc.

  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions.

  • Ability to climb and work from ladders and scaffolds.

  • Ability to lift and carry objects up to 50 lbs.

  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite of products (Word/Excel/Outlook).

Certifications required:

  • Valid Colorado State drivers license and an acceptable driving record.

  • 30-hour OSHA certification or ability to obtain certification within six months of hire date.

Environmental, physical and psychological requirements:

Must be able to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time in both indoor and outdoor environments under varying extremes of heat, cold, or other environmental factors. Work area may contain potential environmental hazards (dust, debris, project materials, etc.). Awareness of work area conditions at all times to ensure proper equipment is used and safety procedures are followed is critical. Must be comfortable climbing to and working at building roof heights on scaffolding, ladders, or other specialized equipment. Must be able to use fingers, hands, wrists for repetitive tasks such as typing, using small hand tools, and operating a telephone. Demands for visual and auditory acuity are typical of a construction environment must be able to see fine detail and make precision adjustments or material modifications using hand tools. Must be able to interact via email, telephone, or in person with diplomacy, tact, and courtesy with internal/external customers or vendors under varying circumstances. Must be able to lift and carry objects up to 50 lbs. Must be able to drive a motor vehicle to multiple locations daily as situations emerge.

Salary range for this position: $59,321.60-$88,982.40(This position is eligible for an annual corporate bonus based upon performance)
