The Facility Fleet Manager/Supervisor will oversee the day to day activities of the Fleet Maintenance Technicians, trailer inventories and maintenance record keeping for regulatory compliance and budget accountability. This position will handle all DOT fleet requirements for facility.

What you will do as our next Facility Fleet Manager:

  1. Maintain and contribute to a safe work environment by adhering to policies and procedures as outlined in the company safety program.

  2. Act as a liaison between the Fleet Maintenance management, operations personnel and vendors providing services on behalf of the company. Responsible for completing and submitting reports in timely fashion: mileage, trip sheets, DTR audit recording, logs, trailer inspection daily and insurance requests.

  3. Responsible for all vehicle maintenance and repair at the facility and communications with appropriate vendors, and lease personnel.

  4. Supervise and coordinate the functions of technicians to ensure timely completion of daily activities.

  5. Oversee the completion of the daily DVIR process, driver HOS logs, trailer yard checks, equipment repair and any related follow up items. Record mileage sheet miles and unit additions and subtractions to facility.

  6. Install, oversee and monitor GPS units on all equipment. This includes tracking and equipment recovery.

  7. Ensure all Unit electronic and paperwork files are current and up to date - includes new vehicles. Audit and ensure facility maintains 90 days of DVIRs on file, and that the 90 day calendar is current with PM (Periodic Maintenance) history. In California based facilities, must maintain binder with current pull notices.

  8. Audit every company cab monthly; verify PMs (Periodic Maintenance) is current.

  9. Ensures facilities achieve successful fleet audits.

  10. Routinely inspect, resolve and maintain any DOT equipment issues.

  11. Responsible for obtaining CVSA permits and interacting with law enforcement personnel, scale house inspectors, the highway patrol, the Motor Vehicle Department and the Ag department with equanimity and professionalism.

  12. Road test temporary and regular drivers as needed.

  13. Responsible for communicating all applicable fleet related information to the appropriate individuals.

  14. Perform any other task or assignment as deemed necessary by the organization

  15. Consults and coordinates with Regional Fleet Manager and works closely with fleet department personnel and facility general managers.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

  • College degree strongly preferred.

  • Two to five years of logistics/supply chain, dispatching, transportation, engineering, vehicle maintenance or business analyst/project management experience.

  • Three years leadership experience.

  • Commercial Driver License strongly preferred.

  • The ability to use basic excel, word and email.

  • Able to read and write in the English language.

While performing the duties of this job:

  • The employee is regularly required to talk or hear.

  • The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, and use hands to handle or feel.

  • The physical activity associated with this position is considered high. The employee will regularly lift, push, pull and/or move items averaging 50 pounds and occasionally up to 75 pounds.

  • The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel or crouch.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
