Role description:

Arcadis is seeking an Environmental Scientist / Geologist / Engineer to join our Arcadis Field Services (AFS) team in Midland, TX.

This individual must be comfortable in front of clients and other stakeholders, self-motivated, and able to provide solutions to any issues that arise while in the field. You will support environmental site characterization, investigation, and remediation projects, and work alongside and support mid- to senior-level managers and multiple project teams.

This position encompasses both office work (task management, data analysis, report preparation, scope preparation, and client communications) as well as field work.

Role accountabilities:

  • Performing fieldwork which will include contractor/vendor oversight for site characterization, soil sampling, monitoring well installation, groundwater sampling, and excavation/UST removal oversight.
  • Assisting Project Managers (PMs) and Task Managers (TMs) with planning and performing environmental site characterization, investigation, and remediation tasks.
  • Exhibiting ownership of delegated tasks, including responsibility for coordinating and delivering on-schedule and on-budget tasks and submittals.
  • Preparing subcontracts and overseeing the work of subcontractors.
  • Assisting with environmental remedial system and in-situ technology treatment design and assessments.
  • Performing remedial system operation and maintenance (O&M), and monitoring. Assist in preparation of O&M reports.
  • Writing and preparing technical reports, work plans, letters, and memorandums.
  • Office work may include task coordination, data compilation and interpretation, cost estimates, health & safety plan preparation, report writing, regulatory file reviews, proposal writing, project strategy development, schedule and budget management, and establishment of subcontracts.
Qualifications & Experience:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Geology, Environmental Science, Engineering or closely related field (i.e., biological, physical science)
  • 1 year of related experience
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master of Science degree in Geology, Engineering or closely related field (i.e., environmental, biological, physical science)
  • Current OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training
