Responsibilities

As a result of growth Dematic Corp. has an opening for a Finance Process Improvement Manager at our North American Head Office located in Grand Rapids, MI.





This is a new position which reports directly to the CFO and is charged with managing and driving the continuous improvement and system upgrades across the finance function. In order to respond to significant growth experienced in recent years and projected to continue the finance team as developed a functional strategy and now need a finance professional skilled in continuous improvement and system implementations & upgrades to help them implement this strategy.





The successful candidate should demonstrate career progression with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience including driving improvement initiatives and system upgrades. Experience with Hyperion (Oracle EPM), SAP, Blackline and Basware are all advantageous and the motivation / potential to develop to into management positions and beyond is required.





Job Responsibilities:



  • Work with finance leadership to identify opportunities for automation and process improvement and appropriately prioritize and scope these opportunities.

  • Maintain the portfolio of finance improvement initiatives within the region and oversee the adherence to timelines and charters.

  • Lead multiple improvement initiatives from initiation, analysis, solution design and execution and deliver successful outcomes by use of proven techniques (DMAIC, six sigma, lean etc).

  • Be a coach and consultant to all improvement initiatives to ensure co-ordination and consistent application of tools.

  • Measure document and communicate progress and celebrate success stories.

  • Advise the finance leadership on automation trends and best practices outside of Dematic as well as observed waste and potential improvements inside the finance team.

  • Train other team members in best practices for continuous improvement.

  • Initiatives to be evaluated and launched in 2021 include: Oracle EPM deployment and use, AP automation, Balance sheet rec automation (blackline), month end automation and monitoring, use of Power BI, lean redesign for forecast process.

Qualifications

Education:



  • Bachelors degree in Finance or Accounting required.

  • Six sigma green belt or Lean certification preferred.

  • Advanced degree and or CPA preferred.
