TransCore (TRN), a subsidiary of Roper Technologies, Inc. (NYSE:ROP) is seeking a full-time Finance Supervisor to join our team in Dover, Delaware.


Job Summary: Supervises and coordinates activities of staff engaged in calculating, posting, and verifying accounting data, by performing the following duties.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


  • Interviews, hires, trains, supervises, and evaluates Accounting staff.

  • Processes various financial transactions.

  • Monitors employees conformance to policies and procedures.

  • Reconciles financial data.

  • Creates and maintains procedures and policies.

  • Prepares various reports.

  • Monitors, prepares, and prints monthly Vtoll letters

  • Issues overpayment and appeal refund requests

  • Research and post NSFs and charge-backs within CAMS and VPS

  • Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this job

Supervisory Responsibilities include:


  • Directly supervises Customer Service Accounting staff.

  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

  • Interviewing, hiring, and training employees.

  • Planning, assigning, and directing work

  • Appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees

  • Addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Required & Desired Skills:


  • Microsoft Excel and Word

  • Supervisory experience required

  • Solid communication skills, both orally and written

  • Ability to work independently with latitude to identify issues and recommend solutions

  • Team player, self-starter, proactive, conscientious, results oriented

  • Time management skills

  • Strong initiative

  • Experience with QuickBooks

  • Flexibility to work hours between 7:00am- 8:00pm, M-F

Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required, College degree preferred.


Experience: Requires a minimum of 1 year of related experience.


Authority: Receives assignments in the form of objectives with goals and the process by which to meet goals. Provides direction to employees according to established policies and management guidance. Administers company policies that directly affect subordinate employees. Recommends changes to unit or sub-unit policies. Management reviews work to measure meeting of objectives.


Job Complexity: Works on issues where analysis of situations or data requires a review of relevant factors. Exercises judgment within defined procedures and policies to determine appropriate action.


Discretion: Erroneous decisions or failure to achieve results may cause delays in schedules.


Interaction: Interacts daily with subordinates and/or functional peer groups. Interaction normally involves exchange or presentation of factual information.


Direction: Provides immediate supervision to a unit or group of employees, assigning tasks, checking work at frequent intervals, and maintaining schedules. A portion of time is normally spent performing individual tasks related to the unit or sub-unit. Generally supervises semi-skilled employees (e.g., assemblers, operators, clerical).


Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.


Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.


Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
