The Director of the Foundation is responsible for leading and advancing the fundraising, donor relations, and development efforts of the institution under the supervision and direction of the President or the President’s designee. The Director shall possess, at minimum, a bachelor's degree and demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to successfully lead fundraising and development initiatives. Experience in fundraising, donor cultivation, advancement, development, public relations, marketing, sales, nonprofit leadership, higher education, or related fields is preferred. The Director shall demonstrate excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills; possess strong organizational and project management abilities; and demonstrate an understanding of and appreciation for the mission of Cloud County Community College (CCCC) and communicating CCCC's programs, services, and impact to donors, alumni, community partners, and other constituencies. Experience working with charitable foundations, nonprofit organizations, or 501(c)(3) entities is desirable. The Director shall be capable of providing these professional services with minimal supervision while exercising sound judgment, discretion, initiative, and independent decision-making.
Requirements
The responsibilities shall include, but are not limited to: 1. Carry out effectively and efficiently the duties and responsibilities appropriate to this administrative position, including but not limited to budget development and management; supervision, development, and evaluation of personnel; collection, analysis, and dissemination of data and information; communication with the CCCC community and community-at-large; participation in institutional committees, work groups, and leadership teams; service as a member of the President's Cabinet; strategic planning and decision-making; application of institutional, governmental, and regulatory policies and procedures; and the completion of other administrative responsibilities as appropriate or assigned. planning and decision-making; application of institutional, governmental, and regulatory policies and procedures; and the completion of other administrative responsibilities as appropriate or assigned. 2. Preserve the tax-exempt status of the Foundation in accordance with all applicable Internal Revenue Service regulations, State of Kansas requirements, and other federal, state, and local laws and regulations. 3. Plan, organize, direct, and execute comprehensive fundraising initiatives, including capital campaigns, scholarship campaigns, annual giving campaigns, planned giving programs, major gifts programs, and endowment development efforts. 4. Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward donors, alumni, corporations, foundations, and friends of Cloud County Community College to expand philanthropic support and increase the donor base of CCCC and the Foundation. 5. Pursue, develop, coordinate, and submit grant proposals and other funding opportunities in support of CCCC programs, scholarships, capital projects, and institutional initiatives, and establish effective grant development processes and procedures. 6. Ensure that the Board of Directors of the Foundation exercises its fiduciary duties and responsibilities in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, bylaws, and Foundation policies. 7. Lead the development and implementation of the Foundation's strategic goals, objectives, and priorities in alignment with the CCCC's mission, vision, and strategic plan. 8. Develop, document, implement, and maintain Foundation policies, procedures, operational processes, and internal controls to ensure consistency, compliance, transparency, continuity of operations, knowledge transfer, cross-training, and organizational sustainability. 9. Provide regular reports regarding Foundation activities, fundraising efforts, financial performance, and strategic initiatives to the President or President's designee, the Cloud County Community College Board of Trustees, and the Cloud County Community College Foundation Board. 10. Exercise sound fiscal management and cost-control practices to ensure the financial integrity and sustainability of Foundation operations. 11. Supervise, direct, develop, and evaluate Foundation staff and make employment recommendations regarding Foundation personnel. 12. Supervise the development, maintenance, security, and utilization of all Foundation records, donor and alumni databases, publications, printed materials, and related communications. 13. Plan, organize, and oversee Foundation-sponsored events, donor recognition activities, scholarship programs, fundraising events, and capital campaign activities. 14. Supervise scholarship application, review, selection, award, and disbursement processes in accordance with Foundation policies and donor intent. 15. Direct the development and distribution of alumni, donor, and community communications that promote engagement and support for CCCC and Foundation. 16. Represent Cloud County Community College and Foundation at public events, community functions, donor meetings, and other activities as directed. 17. Support and facilitate the work of Foundation Board committees and assist in the recruitment, orientation, development, engagement, and recognition of Foundation Board members. 18. Prepare agendas, reports, supporting materials, and official records for meetings of the Foundation Board of Directors and assist the Foundation Board President in conducting Board meetings as requested. 19. Cultivate collaborative relationships among the Foundation, CCCC’s divisions and departments, alumni, donors, corporations, community organizations, and other external constituencies. 20. Develop and implement donor stewardship and recognition programs that promote donor engagement, retention, and long-term philanthropic support of CCCC and Foundation. 21. Attend meetings, workshops, conferences, seminars, and professional development activities as necessary, which may include overnight travel. A valid driver's license is required. 22. Attend and participate in commencement and other official Cloud County Community College functions as requested, including commencement activities in academic attire. 23. Interact professionally and collaboratively with coworkers, students, donors, alumni, community members, and other stakeholders to accomplish institutional goals. 24. Assist with institutional initiatives and accreditation-related activities, including but not limited to the Strategic Plan, Enrollment Plan, Master Facility Plan, Higher Learning Commission requirements, and other CCCC planning efforts. 25. Perform other duties as assigned.
