We are currently seeking a Human Resources Business Partner (Internal Title: Employee Relations Specialist) to support our Western Canada locations. This role provides both strategic and hands on HR support to leaders and shopfloor employees, with a strong focus on employee relations, workforce planning, and talent initiatives.
The Human Resources Business Partner acts as a trusted advisor to the business, supporting recruitment initiatives, employee and labour relations, training and safety programs, government compliance, and workforce planning. The successful candidate must be able to work effectively in both unionized and nonunionized environments and will be required to travel regularly between Tenaris’s Camrose and Edmonton sites.
Requirements
The successful candidate will:
Implement strategies to attract, engage, and retain motivated, high performing employees.
Manage and administer full cycle recruitment, including interviewing, employment testing, preparing offers, and coordinating onboarding activities.
Lead the investigation and resolution of day today employee relations matters.
Assist in preparing and supporting complex cases such as dismissals and grievances.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory, legislative, and internal policy requirements.
Partner with site leaders to develop and execute engagement plans tailored to each location.
Support performance management processes, including development discussions, feedback, and committee participation.
Provide assistance with benefits and payroll related inquiries.
Lead employee communications and support site level communication planning.
Plan, coordinate, and execute major HR initiatives and projects.
Collaborate with leadership to deliver high quality HR processes and exceptional service to employees.
Lead the implementation of corporate initiatives and provide onsite support and administration.
Manage staffing related activities, including coaching, performance appraisals, and training coordination.
Ensure full compliance with Tenaris policies, procedures, and management standards, as well as all applicable laws and regulations.
Proactively motivate, coach, and develop employees while managing HR activities aligned with established HR norms and procedures.
Oversee facility security and patrimonial controls by safeguarding physical assets and ensuring proper use of equipment, facilities, and resources within the assigned area.
Qualifications:
A post-secondary degree in Business with a major in Human Resource and/or Industrial Relations is preferred
A minimum of 5 years’ of experience in a similar role is required
Experience in recruiting, employee relations, labour relations and conflict management is an asset
Experience in the following industries is an asset:Oil and gas
Manufacturing
Unionized environment
Experience in other areas of Human Resources, i.e. Recruitment, benefits, etc. is preferred
Skills:
Intermediate to advanced experience with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills

Schedule, Working Conditions & Travel:
Standard 8-hour workday, 40-hour week (Monday–Friday) with flexibility based on business needs.
Work is performed in an office environment within an industrial facility
Ability to work at both Edmonton and Camrose locations on a weekly basis
Ability to travel 1 week per month to different Tenaris office/manufacturing facilities within Canada is required
