We are seeking an experienced Automotive Dealership Controller, to oversee all accounting operations for our privately owned dealership group (Toyota, Lexus and Acura). This role is critical to the financial health of the organization and will work closely with dealership leadership to ensure accurate reporting, strong internal controls, and sound financial decision-making.
The ideal candidate has hands-on dealership accounting experience, strong leadership skills, and a business-minded approach. DMS in use is CDK.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee all dealership accounting functions including A/P, A/R, payroll, general ledger, and month-end close
Prepare accurate and timely financial statements and management reports
Manage and reconcile floorplans, manufacturer statements, schedules, and balance sheet accounts
Ensure compliance with GAAP, manufacturer requirements, and internal controls
Partner with dealership leadership to analyze financial performance and improve profitability
Supervise, train, and develop accounting staff
Maintain cash flow forecasting and working capital management
Coordinate audits, tax preparation, and banking relationships
Ensure timely completion of month-end and year-end closing
Identify and implement process improvements and efficiencies
Serve as a financial resource to department managers across Sales, Service, Parts, and F&I

Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
5+ years of automotive dealership accounting experience preferred
Strong working knowledge of CDK Dealer Management System a plus (not required)
Previous experience as a Controller, Assistant Controller, or Senior Dealership Accounting Team
Solid understanding of dealership financial statements, schedules, and reconciliations
