Proficiency in Police Officer duties, including maintaining public safety and responding to emergency situations
Experience with evidence collection, preservation, and analysis
Strong skills in criminal investigations and case management
Comprehensive knowledge of law enforcement practices, procedures, and techniques
Ability to communicate effectively, maintain good judgment, and work collaboratively
A high school diploma or equivalent (required); an associate or bachelor’s degree in criminal justice or related field is a plus
Possession of or ability to obtain POST (Peace Officer Standards and Training) certification
A valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
Previous experience in law enforcement or security is advantageous but not mandatory

Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Police Officer position based in Monument, Colorado. Candidates will be responsible for maintaining law and order, responding to incidents, conducting criminal investigations, and ensuring public safety. Daily tasks include patrolling assigned areas, gathering and processing evidence, preparing reports, and maintaining a visible presence to deter crime. Police Officers at the Monument Police Department are expected to engage with the community to reinforce trust and ensure compliance with local laws and regulations.
