BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e., 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Two years of college and technical training is preferred, specifically chemistry.
  • Prefer knowledge of investment casting process flow.
Qualifications

JOB SUMMARY:

Evaluate raw and cast materials and castings submitted for metallographic features as defined by customer requirements.
Provide evidence of evaluation to appropriate personnel for disposition of materials and castings represented by samples submitted.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Using Computers (entering information, etc.)
Castings: Cutting, mounting, Polishing, Evaluation via Microscope, Recordkeeping (including sample retention, housekeeping
Comply with all site required policies and procedures including but not limited to: EHS, Quality, Code of Conduct, and the Wichita Falls Employee Handbook.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Castings:
Develop knowledge and proficiency with metallography area.
Review internal procedures versus customer specifications and make necessary changes to procedures.
Assist in creating process approval documentation for submission to the customer.
Release castings for shipment per customer requirements.
Setup, operate, maintain and troubleshoot metallographic equipment.
Analyze, interpret and report the results of examinations as required.
Mechanical Aptitude and Eye perception must be adequate.
Communicate our external customer needs and requirements to our internal customers. Respond to the needs of both internal and external customers.
Precision & Accuracy in following customer requirements and /or internal work instructions for proper processing of samples.
Complies with all EHS rules related to the work environment.

ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH AND SAFETY RESPONSIBILITES:

Comply with all department, facility, corporate and regulatory EHS regulations.
Wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE). Requires Metatarsal Pull Up Boots, Hearing Protection, Hard Hats, Flame retardant clothing, Safety glasses, gloves, and Aluminized spats.
Report all job-related illness and injuries (Per Employee Handbook).
Report all safety, health, and environmental concerns to your supervisor in a timely manner.
Attend all EHS training.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/EQUIPMENT USED

1. Physical Demands:

Employee is required to execute the following:

Reach for items nearby, far, and overhead.
Fine manipulation, using a keyboard and mouse.
Lifting and carrying to the waist-to-chest high level, floor to waist and chest to overhead.
Gripping Pinching and Handling.
Climb stairs.
Work requires moderate physical effort including some constant standing.
Must pass Jaeger 1 vision eye exam.

2. Training:

On the Job Training will be provided.

3. Equipment Used:

Standard Office Equipment.
Specialized equipment for Materials and Metallographic analysis.

4. Work Environment:

Works in air-conditioned area.
Requires wearing safety glasses, ear plugs and Metal tarsal shoes.
