Job Summary

The Global Products Contract Manager supports business objectives through managing the assigned commercial and government sales contract portfolio. Responsible for managing all aspects of government contract administration and supporting sales leaders with contract negotiation. The incumbent is responsible for drafting commercial sales agreements and interacting with cross functional teams to ensure proper vetting of risk and operational capabilities. This role will lead process improvement activities and support the building of a world-class contract management organization.

Core Responsibilities

  • Supports government sales leadership in navigating federal contract bids, agreements and schedules. Responsible for reviewing, assessing, and escalating compliance and operational risks. Will be relied upon as a subject matter expert in the area of government contracting.

  • Coordinate the proper execution of all contract compliance activities. Be the primary point of contact for day-to-day administration, to include coordination of pricing activities with the price administration team and ensuring all government systems are properly maintained with current information.

  • Manage 2-3 Government Contract Specialists.

  • Support the Canadian sales team with contract drafting, bid reviews, and the ongoing management of contracts.

  • Manage domestic distributor vetting process in coordination with legal and finance. Support distributor sales team with contract drafting, bid reviews, and the ongoing management of contracts.

  • Works closely with legal, pricing operations, contract operations, and accounting/finance to develop proper business process. Effectively synthesizes business objectives and outcomes through dynamic contract strategy.

  • Be an instrumental change agent in creating a world-class contracting organization with focus on commercial excellence.

  • Supports the design of tools and systems that drive efficiency, agility, and accelerates the throughput of contract drafting and negotiation.

Qualifying Experience

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Marketing, General Business or other related discipline, required, MBA preferred

  • At least five years contract management experience, required, with most of this time in the healthcare industry specifically the Medical-Surgical distribution/Products business, preferred.

  • Expert level knowledge of Government contracting principles, including but not limited to FAR, DFAR, DLA/DAPA, and GSA.

  • Working knowledge of Group Purchasing Organizations, Aggregation groups and Integrated Health Networks preferred.

  • At least five years proven experience in contract drafting and negotiation. Incumbent must have driver seat negotiation experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to effectively interface with and influence senior management and customers in a matrix environment.

  • Ability to work independently and to lead others effectively in a group setting.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.

  • Ability to identify issues and leverage knowledge and experience to develop strategic solutions to contract risks that support core business objectives.

  • Highly proficient in key systems: MS Office, SAP, SAP-BI, Bex, Vistex, GSA and DOD related systems. Proficient in MS Excel and Word required.

  • Experience with Contract Life Cycle Management systems.

  • Ability to travel up to 10%
