Responsibilities

Serves as a Ground Antenna Engineer responsible for assessing existing commercial and Government antenna systems for mission data and command and control applications. Also responsible for any unique Antenna Development to include physical installation, RF performance, down conversion, and demodulation.
Responsible for space/ground antenna service level agreements and/or unique antenna development
o Support end-to-end Ground Antenna subsystem with experience in the maintenance and verification of segment level requirements and evaluation of specifications, Concept of Operations development, verification plans, procedures and results, test data and qualification and acceptance test plans and results.

o Apply knowledge of hardware and software to unique ground Antenna development including feeds, reflectors, radomes, down converters, and demodulators.
o Understand the spectrum constraints based on spectrum allocation and geography
o Apply program management knowledge to achieve technical performance within cost and schedule constraints. Identify risks to program plans, develop corrective action plans, conduct ECP reviews and technical evaluations, cost and schedule evaluations, proposal evaluations, and formulate budgets.
Develop and negotiate SLAs for mission down link and spacecraft command and control to ensure mission requirements are Support acceptance testing and failure review boards. Participate in root cause dispositioning for top technical issues. Communicate technical and programmatic issues and provide succinct recommendations to government counterparts.


Qualifications

Requires 8 to 10 years with BS/BA or 6 to 8 years with MS/MA or 3 to 5 years with PhD.

Applicant should have a B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a technical field such as Physics, Math or Astronautics and 10 years engineering experience with RF systems. Candidates with equivalent educational background and demonstrated experience will be considered. Candidates must have a proven ability to effectively work major developmental contractors. Applicants should be able to convey complex technical and programmatic issues concisely to senior management and be flexible and creative problem solvers.
