Head of Global Insights

As the Head of Global Insights working in Global Product & Launch Strategy (GPLS), Takedas Global Commercial Strategy unit, you will be empowered to deliver the understanding of our patients, markets and competitors that is fundamental to building product and launch strategies. Global Insights is a center of excellence in Global Product and Launch Strategy (GPLS) and the insights team must deliver the core understanding of the patient that informs the Patient Journey, the planning tool at the heart of our product strategies. It includes Market Research, Competitive Intelligence, Pipeline Forecasting and Data Strategy. A typical day will include:

POSITION OBJECTIVES:

  • Establish insights plans for the GPLS portfolio.

  • These should align to the product strategy and establish key gaps in knowledge that we plan to fill in our understanding of the patient journey, competition, and the market.

  • Partner with the GPLS LT to prioritize across the GPLS portfolio to assure we are addressing the most significant insights needs first

  • Lead Insights teams covering GI, Neuroscience, Rare Genetic and Hematology and Marketed Brands and PDT

  • Establish the capabilities plan for insights. The GPLS LT has identified Insights as one of the 5 core capabilities focus areas for the GPLS. This plan should address building world class capabilities in the insights COE and across GPLS.

  • Scan externally to identify insights best practice in biopharma and other industries. Build capabilities in the organization to support this best practice

  • Assure strong partnership with IR, so that they can understand the GPLS products and messages for investors

  • Partner effectively with Insights teams in the Regions and LOCs

  • Lead a team of ~25 FTEs located in Boston and Zurich. Coach team members to build their skills. Establish strong bench strength in insights.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • 50% Build out insights plans for GPLS portfolio

  • 15% Prioritize projects across the GPLS portfolio

  • 20% Build out Insights Capabilities Plan

  • 15% Scan external environment for partners and best practice

EDUCATION, BEHAVIORAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:

  • Bachelors degree (minimum); MBA or science-related graduate degree preferred

  • 15+ years of pharmaceutical / biotech, new product planning, commercial marketing / sales and / or market insights experience that clearly demonstrates strategic thinking and deep analytics

  • Proven ability to influence in cross-functional settings is a must. Must be a strong communicator, able to confidently present to top level executives within different functions of the organization

  • Deep understanding of the tools and techniques of Insights; ability to coach and teach others

  • Rare Disease experience a plus

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Occasional international travel, up to 25% during peak periods
