Arcosa Traffic Structures is searching for a Heavy Assembler Lead. Under the direction of the supervisor, the lead assembler provides training, guidance and direction to assigned employees in an efficient, clean, safe and cost-effective manner in order to achieve the goals and key performance metrics in line with the organization's objectives. As an Assembler youll assemble mechanical units, fabricated parts/components subassemblies, assemblies, and complete units using hand tools, power tools, jigs, fixtures, and miscellaneous equipment. The Assembler will also fit, align, calibrate, and adjust parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product operating requirements, and repair units or products that have failed to meet requirements.

Qualifications and Skills


  • Hard skills
    • Experience: Up to 4 Years

    • Certifications: Applicable Torque Certification from Arcosa

    • Technical Skills: Basic knowledge of hand tools and hardware (i.e. bolts & nuts), ability to read and follow written instructions, electrical wiring experience, the ability to match-up sub-assembly to the final product and knowledge of all finished product specifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED

Duties and Responsibilities


  • Core Responsibilities
    • Insert and/or attach sub-assemblies with appropriate hardware

    • Attach complex sub-assemblies and/or parts with appropriate hardware

    • Apply appropriate torque sequence and values

    • Read and follow complex instructions

    • Operate mobile equipment

    • Verify Torque sequence and values

    • Perform quality check to meet customer specifications

    • Build sub-assembly of electrical components

    • Mount and test final electrical sub-assembly

    • Train and assure safety of all team members

    • Lead team by assigning tasks

    • Assist in completion of all tasks to meet deadlines

    • Maintain and improve quality

    • Be aware of and observe all safety practices.

    • Know and follow all safety rules and procedures.

    • Participate in safety committees and initiatives as assigned.
