Human Resources Associate

Location: Greenfield, Indiana (Hybrid)

This position will be part of our hybrid work environment with some days working on-site at our Greenfield, Indiana headquarters and other days working remotely.

The US Human Resources Associate will provide support to the US HR Business Partnership, Employee Relations, and Employee Health Services team. The associate will have opportunity to organize and coordinate HR processes as well as identify and collaborate on continuous improvement initiatives for the HR function and Elanco employees.

Functions, Duties, Tasks:

  • Organizes and coordinates HR processes, including but not limited to, US HR Communications, US Employment Policies, Unemployment Insurance Claims, Workforce Reduction processes.

  • Partners with HRBPs and HR COEs on continuous improvement and execution of HR processes, such as technical ladder promotions and retention payments.

  • Partners with HRBPs and HR COEs to answer questions from employee and leaders in order to complete HR Partner actions in Workday and/or ensure they are processed in accordance with policy.

  • Serve as additional support on Employee Relations cases when needed, which includes coaching and counseling leaders and employees on areas such as team member effectiveness, consistent application of Elanco policies, and performance management.

  • Maintain knowledge of Elanco HR process and procedures.

  • Maintain knowledge of Elanco employee population including business functions.

  • Ensure all company, state, local and other applicable laws or requirements are met with respect to HR process support.

  • Continually improve team processes and practices to minimize bureaucracy and improve efficiency for HR, employees, and key partners.

  • Influence the quality of service from the HR shared services organization and ensure management and employees understand and adopt Elancos self-service model. Build strong partnership with the HR shared services team members.

  • Participate in projects, initiatives and workshops that improve US HR processes and better empower and enable Elanco leadership using the Targeted Interaction Model (TIM).

  • Maintains manager and employee confidence by keeping confidentiality.

Minimum Qualification (education, experience and/or training, required certifications):

  • Bachelors Degree in human resources or related field

  • Minimum 2 yrs. experience in HR

Additional Preferences:

  • Experience in employee relations and/or investigations strongly preferred

  • Experience with case management software, experience with ServiceNow ITIL (author and manager) view an added plus

  • Experience with Workday

  • Experience off-boarding employees due to workforce reductions

  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.

  • Proven critical thinking and excellent judgment.

  • Ability to coach, influence and develop people at all levels.

  • Demonstrated ability to deal with ambiguity.

  • Demonstrated ability to have crucial conversations

  • Strong written and oral communication skills in all forums - group presentation, face-to-face meetings, and phone conversations.

  • Strong computer skills Excel, PowerPoint, Word

  • Strong Project Management skills

Notification of Drug testing and Background Checks

Elanco conducts urinalysis drug testing as a mandatory part of its pre-employment application and background check process after acceptance of a conditional offer of employment by an applicant. Tested applicants will be given a copy of any positive test result. All test results shall be considered confidential and shall not be disclosed by Elanco, other than to those persons for whom such disclosure is necessary. Positive test results, or a refusal to consent to and participate in pre-employment drug testing, shall be grounds for denial of employment. Cooperation in scheduling the testing is important for processing an application for employment.
