The IT Director, Americas Innovation & Insights is responsible for setting strategies and objectives for creating, delivering, and supporting Innovation, Digital Health, Analytics & Insights across the Americas region.

As a member of Americas IT Leadership team, this role will provide strategic leadership and direction in the shaping of a renewed vision for the Americas region - from shaping of innovative digital health business models to formation of an analytics strategy to deliver leading indicators.

The leader will work globally and cross-functionaly to progressively transforms digital operations and capabilities of the Americas region and our ability to engage as part of an integrated health system - with the goal of enabling the business to grow, take market share, drive speped and reduce cost, creating a global competiice advantage and achieving sustained profitable growth.

The scope of this role is for the Americas, which includes Latin America, Canada and the United States. This region represents over 55% of Medtronic's $30B+ revenue.

A Day in the Life:

The Americas Innovation & Insights Leader is a senior-level, innovative, strategic IT partner who shares ownership of both business strategy and business value results.

The leader works with Sr Leaders across the Americas and Global IT to drive innovation in the areas digital health business models and data enabled therapy delivery as well as analytics to accelerate revenue and cost optimization. This is achieved through strong business relationship management and stimulating, surfacing, and shaping demand for capabilities in addition to ensuring that the potential business value from those capabilities and assets are captured, optimized, and recognized.

The role is accountable for ideation, shaping, defining, delivering and ensuring value realization for IT enabled Innovation/Digital Health and Insights & Analytics across the Americas region.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

Strategic Partnering, Strategy & Innovation

  • Shape Americas Digital Health and Analytics strategy, driving new business model innovation, serving patients, caregivers and healthcare professionals.
  • Influence the Americas region's decision making by providing actionable views of consumer/customer insights, market & competitor insights, macro trend insights, and product performance analysis.
  • Provide thought leadership regarding the consumer, our customers, distribution channels, products, competitors, and the economic and marketing environment impacting our business.
  • Provide thought leadership and represent Medtronic Americas region strategically in the healthcare med-device industry sector and community at large.
  • Expert on current trends, technologies, market available capabilities and able to articulate art-of-the-possible opportunities across the region. Act boldly with technology opportunity, ensuring Medtornic stands out in the market place.
  • Communicate and conduct briefings with senior or executive leadership regarding ongoing operations and strategic initiatives.
  • Establish, mature, and maintain strategic engagement at all levels of leadership within the region, Global IT, and external stakeholders to shape, innovate and achieve strategic imperatives.

Delivery & IT Operations
  • Collaborate with Americas and Global IT leadership to define and execute transformational roadmaps, delivering on the strategy.
  • Leverage the Core. Partner and leverage corporate assets across the digital landscape to rapidly stitch together holistic solutions for the Americas.
  • Ensure successful incubation models are transitioned effectively to business as usual.
  • Accountable for the portfolio of digital health and analytics initiatives across the Americas region.
  • Ensures infrastructure architecture standards maximize efficiency and support platform compatibility.

  • Inspire and Lead the team. Provide leadership development opportunity to the team and always remain focused on diversity, inclusion, and equity.
  • Accountability for mentoring, developing and coaching staff on meeting/exceeding performance expectations and defined objectives, providing leadership to staff ensuring the prioritization of strategic and department level initiatives.
  • Building and leading high performing team. Define organizational structure and develop talent strategy to support strategic objectives.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors degree required
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant IT experience with 7+ years of managerial experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant IT experience with 7+ years of managerial experience

Nice to Have
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, business administration or related field
  • 5+ years data strategy, reporting & analytics and digital health experience
  • Proven experience and technical expertise in data and digital and how to harness and leverage the value of data to grow a business and drive efficiencies
  • Strong experience with commercial remote technology development and delivery
  • 5+ years of experience facilitating the development and implementation of business initiatives and projects, based on management objectives
