The IT Data Architect Data and Analytics is responsible for understanding sources of data and defining a for integrating, centralizing and maintaining it. In our Data and Analytics organization, this involves partnering with business users and IT team members to support data warehouse/lake and BI applications across multiple functions, and to enhance those applications to meet evolving business needs. The role reports to the Data Staff Architect, but is expected to work independently and collaboratively to support and continuously improve various systems and business processes.





Principal Duties and Responsibilities



  • Collaborate with business/functional leaders and teams to identify, collect and translate information requirements into data to develop data-centric solutions

  • Implement industry-accepted data architecture principles and standards for modeling, stored procedures, replication, regulations, and security, among others, to meet technical and business goals.

  • Establish and oversee adherence to standards for modeling and code in various languages to improve and update data-centric solutions

  • Research and properly evaluate sources of information to determine possible limitations in reliability or usability

  • Apply sampling techniques to effectively determine and define ideal categories to be questioned

  • Compare and analyze statistical information to identify patterns, relationships and problems; organize and present findings to management

  • Train assistants and other members of the team how to properly organize findings and read data collected

  • Refer to previous instances and findings to determine the ideal method for gathering data

  • Continuously identifies and pursues opportunities to improve systems in terms of reliability, usability, and performance

  • Collaborates across functional, company, and geographical boundaries and influences and negotiates to provide effective support and deliver results

  • Participates as data lead on projects of all sizes

  • Applies principles, concepts and practices of the IT Service Management (ITSM), Project Management Life Cycle (PMLC), and Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC)

  • Proactively enforces worldwide and local security policies to ensure IT information assets are protected

Expected Areas of Competence



  • Demonstrated experience designing and delivering data-centric solutions, specifically where integration/consolidation/standardization of data from disparate sources was required

  • Experience preparing business requirements and techno-functional design documentation

  • An understanding of multiple functional business areas and respective data (e.g. Sales & Distribution, Finance & Accounting, Supply Chain/Mfg, etc)

  • Ability to work successfully as part of a geographically distributed and organizationally diverse team

  • Strong analytical / problem solving skills

  • Confidence in decision making and the ability to explain processes and/or choices in both simple and detailed terms

  • Strong interpersonal, influencing and communication skills; appropriately share viewpoints and encourage the free exchange of information and opinions

  • Strong work planning skills; must be able to multitask effectively

  • Continuous improvement and results-orientated; act with a sense of urgency and deliver results on-time and on-budget

  • Have a winning attitude and instill a passion for winning with other team members, an attitude which is demonstrated by a can do approach

  • Knowledge of ITSM, PMLC, and SDLC concepts

Education/Experience Requirements



  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Information Systems/Statistics or related field and/or at least 5-7 years of experience in roles that required significant data architecture, modeling and/or data-centric solution design

  • At least 3-5 years of experience working with ERP applications

  • Experience with SAP ERP, SAP BW and/or HANA platforms preferred

  • Experience with MS Azure-based solutions preferred

  • Experience working with private and sensitive personal information

  • Technical, Functional, and/or Project Management certifications preferred

Compensation Range 117,500-138,000
