The E.W. Scripps Company is looking for a Lead Analyst who will be responsible for the talent acquisition functionality in Workday and providing technical support to the talent acquisition team. This person will work closely with the talent acquisition team in support of recruiting initiatives. While primarily responsible for talent acquisition configuration, this role will also be involved in other aspects of Workday administration and the support of other third parties tied to the recruiting process (background checks, FCC reporting compliance, etc.). This position will be responsible for the day-to-day administration and support ofHR technology strategies. This will be accomplished through strategic understanding, ongoing analysis, requirements gathering, configuration, development, implementation, maintenance, and evaluation. The Lead Analyst partners closely ITand HRto ensure processes and technologies are aligned for desired outcomes, thus, the role requires the ability to make effective use of resources and knowledgebase of both groups.

Key Activities

  • Manage the system configuration and monitoring for the following HR functional areas:
    • HRMS
    • Payroll
    • Time and Attendance
    • Benefits
    • Advanced Compensation
    • Employee and Manager Self Service
    • Adhoc and scheduled reporting
    • Talent Acquisition
    • Talent Management (including performance management, goals, succession etc.)
    • Learning Administration
  • Establish and document training requirements related to changes to process and system, including the testing of new system functionality.
  • Lead the testing of software fixes and upgrades for quality assurance control, using manual and automated tools.
  • Determine business requirements for changes to systems or processes and assist Director, HR Systems with documenting the related requirements.
  • Use sound information and theory to provide management with recommended actions to resolve issues, enhance service delivery, or create value for the business.
  • Participate in establishing best practices, standards, and strategies related to HR systems initiatives.
  • Champion the ongoing improvement of consistency, value, and usability of HR systems, ensuring they are up-to-date and user-friendly.
  • Provide production support and root cause analysis by investigating and resolving system problems and user questions.
  • Work closely with internal and external teams to resolve technical and operational issues.
  • Conduct ad-hoc reporting requests.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Education & Experience/Certifications

  • Bachelors degree in human resources, business or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years experience in human resources technology and/or systems required.

Skills & Abilities

  • Established customer service skills as evidenced by working in the role of external or internal consultant.
  • Exceptional problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written) and the ability to influence others.
  • Proven understanding of relational databases
  • Must have strong knowledge of HR systems to solve complex technical issues.
  • Must have good organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to work independently with functional leads and system owners to identify interdependencies within the core HR application, integrations and external systems.
