What will I be doing?
We focus on the customer journey across all touchpoints. Each of these lean, multi-functional teams needs the partnership of a dedicated researcher with a passion for discovering and validating customer wants and needs. Your role as one of these researchers will require you to manage and independently drive research and data collection on small and large product initiatives. You will represent the customer within the team; this includes supporting and validating big-picture, 40,000-foot concepts to ground-level implementation without missing a beat. You will give the product strategy and roadmap.

You will develop and coordinate evaluative and generative research through quantitative and qualitative methodologies. This could take the form of testing prototypes through user interviews, coordinating in-depth usability testing, mining user analytics, suggesting A/B tests, and any other research needs that arise. You will bring together these customers' intuition using accurate research methodologies in a lean fashion while remaining objective in representing findings. You must have a steadfast curiosity for discovering customer problem areas, motivations, and thinking styles.

Specifically, as a Lead User Experience Researcher, you will implement small- to medium-sized qualitative and quantitative studies with customers of our digital products by capturing requirements, planning, designing, building, and launching the studies, and reporting on findings. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams who work in a human-centered design model, focusing on the customer. Feedback provided will aid the business, UX, design, and other teams in crafting optimized products.

More specifically, you will:
  • Collaborate with product teams to understand needs and requirements
  • Craft and develop customer-appropriate research studies
  • Apply knowledge of research techniques to inform study design, script writing, etc.
  • Analyze feedback and build substantial findings to drive the project forward
  • Work with the rest of the Experience Design team to ensure research findings are shared and incorporated into other initiatives
  • Stay current on emerging research technologies and find opportunities
  • Work independently in a fast-paced, agile, distributed environment

  • Experience with Agile methodologies
  • Experience with UserTesting.com or a similar platform
  • Experience in research moderation/facilitation
  • Experience in questionnaire design/development
  • Ability to travel 10 - 20%
