Job Description

The Maintenance Department is responsible for maintaining equipment associated with the production, packaging and distribution of Kimberly Clark Products through preventative, predictive and corrective maintenance work.

  • Work safely and protect the safety of others

  • Machine shop, welding and fabricating skills

  • Actively participate in a High Performance Work Team environment, sharing knowledge and skills with all other team members

  • Support the planning and execution of daily/weekly shutdown activities

  • Actively participate in root cause and equipment/ systems troubleshooting

  • Provide routine maintenance training to team members

  • Participates in cost effective decision making in labor, parts and materials

  • Actively participate in the design, implementation and improvement of all reliability programs

  • Identify and maintain critical spare inventory levels of parts

  • Setup and operator various of mechanical tools, including machinist tools and alignment devices

  • Read blueprints and related technical literature as required. Fabricate jobs from blueprints and sketches

  • Knowledge of Windows, MS Office, and SAP software programs

  • Posses the mechanical aptitude to lead and execute repairs on high speed rotating equipment

  • Work with and lead others (operators, crafts, contractors, suppliers)

  • Proficient in the assembly, disassembly and installation of mechanical systems and components commonly found on high speed rotating equipment

  • Be proficient in the safe execution of rigging and large equipment transportation

  • Knowledge of general plant systems such as boilers, chillers, air compressors and HVAC

Customer Expectations:

Ensure that maintenance activities are accomplished within mill area teams in a manner that supports mill and department objectives. Drive continuous improvement in safety, quality, and productivity. Own and drive machine throughout. Visible leader of Lean principles (I.e. engagement, leader standard work, zone control, problem solving). Ensure corrective and preventative action for all machine quality defects and support operating crews when needed.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED

  • Must be able to work overtime including nights, holidays, weekends and 12 hour rotating shifts

  • Read and write basic English

  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft office)

  • Candidate must be able to work on elevated work platforms, catwalks, scaffolding, and enter confined work spaces

  • Candidate must follow all site and asset safety practices and procedures and value working safely

  • Good problem solving and decision making skills

  • Ability to work safely in a multi functional team environment

  • Able to handle multiple priorities

  • Motivated self-starter

  • Must understand predictive and preventative maintenance concepts and demonstrate willingness to learn new skills and approaches

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years experience in a related high speed, automated manufacturing field or equivalent including but not limited to the following:

  • Related two year technical degree

  • Completed Apprenticeship

  • Equivalent military MOS
