As part of our growth strategy across Latin America and the Caribbean, we are seeking a manager of communications for the region.

Role Responsibilities

  • Corporate and business strategies are communicated to and understood by key audiences.
  • Creating and overseeing the public relations and external corporate communications strategies, as well as managing a network of agency partners.
  • Align corporate communications with corporate objectives and overall business strategy then develop relevant communication programs across paid, earned, and owned channels to support business growth and revenue generation.
  • Build and implement an external public relations program that builds upon Western Unions brand reputation and drives revenue leveraging its products and capabilities through effectively communicating product milestones, marketing efforts and company thought leadership.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional leaders across the company including regional leadership, sales and marketing, global communications, and internal communications to remain well informed of key business priorities and connect the dots.

Role Requirements

  • Education or equivalent skills are required, with at least five years of related experience in Communications, Branding, or Marketing for this role.
  • You need to have 5-7 years experience in marketing, public relations, and/or corporate communications and are degree qualified in either communications or a related field.
  • Specific knowledge and experience across corporate media relations, executive communications, thought leadership, crisis, and issues management. Preferable experience in Payments, Financial Services, Technology, Banking, or Insurance sectors, along with consumer brand experience.
  • Spanish and English fluent is mandatory; fluency in Portuguese is desirable.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Exemplary attention to detail, and solid judgement/ critical thinking are required. Youre able to demonstrate the ability to work with and influence senior-level business executives on a regular basis and you can organize, prioritize, and focus on strategic projects (delivering end-to-end communications project management).
  • Previous experience of lean and agile working methodologies is also desirable.
  • Youre able to work comfortably in highly complex and diverse work environments.
  • Youre versed at managing stakeholders across the LACA Region, energized and motivated and ready to make a difference!
